Along with education and training, science and technology (S&T) has been identified by our Party as a top national policy, an important driving force for the country's rapid and sustainable development. In the context of the 4th industrial revolution and the explosion of digital technology, S&T and techniques have become more important than ever.
Stemming from this reality, on December 22, 2024, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in S&T, innovation, and national digital transformation (Resolution 57). The Resolution opens up a new and promising direction for the country's S&T research and application.
Even before Resolution 57 was issued, research, transfer, and application of science and technology activities had been emphasized by the Party and State, with many policies and solutions to promote them. Among these, movements, contests, and competitions organized from the grassroots to national levels must be mentioned.
Dong Nai - with its position as a populous province, an industrial province, with a developed economy, and education and training scale among the top in the country... has successfully organized movements, contests, and competitions such as: The Creative Youth Movement of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; the Science Research Camp for lecturers and students; the Creative Competition for adolescents and children; the Technical Innovation Competition; the Digital Literacy Movement... The entire political system participated in presiding over and coordinating these scientific and technical activities, with the main forces being the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology, the Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Provincial Youth Union... These scientific and technical "playgrounds" have attracted all strata of people in the province to participate, thereby promoting the internal scientific and technical creativity among the people.
Stemming from practical demands that drive research, many excellent and high-quality topics have been introduced into the scientific "playground," where they are refined, clarified, and elevated; after that, these projects and solutions are brought back and applied in practice, serving life effectively, and contributing practically to socio-economic development... The above approach has proven the effectiveness of movements, contests, and competitions in promoting scientific and technical research and application activities. Therefore, in the coming time, Dong Nai province will continue to further develop these scientific "playgrounds."
Recently, speaking at the award ceremony for provincial-level scientific and technical competitions, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang proposed Party committees, authorities, agencies, and units to pay more attention to propagating and implementing guidelines and policies on S&T activities and innovation; considering this a task associated with the overall development of the province after merger.
With the spirit of Resolution 57 and accompanying policies; the drastic direction of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee; the synchronous and responsible involvement of departments, agencies, and local communes, it is believed that scientific and technical research and application activities will be strongly promoted, arousing the spirit of creativity and scientific mastery among the people, contributing practically to the rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of our country.
