Preparatory session of 1st Congress of Dong Nai Provincial Farmers' Union for the 2025-2030 term opens

On the afternoon of December 11, the preparatory session of the 1st Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial Farmers' Union, for the 2025-2030 term, took place with the participation of 300 outstanding delegates representing nearly 200 thousand cadres, members, and farmers in the province.

The 1st Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial Farmers' Union, 2025-2030 term, with the motto "Unity - Democracy - Creativity - Cooperation - Efficiency" aims to evaluate the work of the union and the farmers' movement in the 2023-2025 period, set out directions and tasks for the 2025-2030 term, contributing to the development of a green, prosperous, civilized, and modern Dong Nai province.

At the preparatory session, delegates elected the Presidium, Secretariat, Credentials Committee, approved the agenda, regulations, rules of the congress, and a number of submissions and reports.

In the 2023-2025 period, farmers' unions at all levels in the province closely followed political tasks, effectively implemented the union's work programs and plans and the farmers' movement, completing and exceeding most of the targets assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union. The propaganda work of farmers' unions at all levels was emphasized with many innovations, especially the application of information technology and digital transformation; contributing to raising awareness and trust of farmers in the union organization.

In terms of membership development, the entire province admitted nearly 10,300 new members; cumulatively, the total number has increased to nearly 193,000 members. The work of planning, training, and fostering cadres was given attention by all levels of the union. The quality of activities of branches and groups was gradually improved, better meeting the legitimate needs and interests of members and farmers, attracting a large number of farmers to participate in the union organization.

The union organized many activities to support farmers in developing production. In particular, the capital of the Farmers' Support Fund has grown to over 56 billion VND. The emulation movement for good production and business has become a highlight in the rural socio-economic life.

Farmers in the province contributed over 94 billion VND, over 25,700 working days, and donated nearly 509,000 m2 of land to build rural roads. All levels of the union coordinated with businesses to support 190,000 seedlings and livestock breeds for poor members to develop production. The union supplied a total of 12,000 tons of various fertilizers and donated over 1,000 agricultural machines to farmers.

Over the past 2 years, the emulation movement "Cadres and members actively participate in developing collective economy in agriculture" has supported the establishment of 64 new cooperatives and 164 cooperative groups.

In the 2025-2030 term, the Dong Nai Provincial Farmers' Union will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; build a streamlined and strong union organization in terms of politics, organization, and action; improve the quality of members and the quality of activities; build a contingent of union cadres at all levels, especially at the grassroots, with good qualities, ethics, prestige, enthusiasm, and the ability to gather and mobilize farmers.

The union also forms a new team of farmers with professional thinking, management capacity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit; continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of emulation movements, focusing on the movement of farmers emulating good production and business, uniting to help one another get rich and sustainably reduce poverty; promote green transformation, digital transformation, develop circular agriculture, organic agriculture; mobilize resources to support members in applying science and technology, mechanization, digitizing production processes, expanding links with businesses, banks, and credit institutions.

Moreover, it promote digital transformation and apply information technology in member management and association activities. Ongoing efforts are made to improve the quality of association officials, members, and farmers to meet the requirements in the new situation as well as actively participate in developing the collective economy in agriculture.
