On the morning of December 8, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province held the first consultation conference to discuss and agree on the structure, composition, and number of candidates nominated as the 16th National Assembly deputies. The conference was chaired by Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province; and Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province.

Also in attendance were: Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Le Truong Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Provincial Party Committee members, including: Tran Van Mi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Thi Hong Trang, Permanent Deputy Head in charge of the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization; Nguyen Huu Dinh, Director of the Department of Home Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee; and Nguyen Huu Nguyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Farmers’ Union.

At the first consultation conference on agreeing the structure, composition and number of candidates nominated as the 16th National Assembly deputies, Tran Van Mi, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, presented the National Assembly Standing Committee’s projected structure, composition, and number of candidates to be nominated by political organizations, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, social organizations, state agencies and units of the armed forces. He also presented the projected allocation of candidates nominated for the National Assembly at the provincial level. Accordingly, Dong Nai will elect a total of 18 National Assembly deputies, including 10 residing and working in the province and 8 others nominated by central-level agencies.

Delegates attending the conference gave comments and discussed matters relating to the structure, composition, and allocation of candidates for the 16th National Assembly. Based on these discussions, the conference voted unanimously to approve a total of 18 National Assembly deputies and 32 nominated candidates.

At the conference, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Huu Dinh also provided further clarification on issues raised by delegates regarding the projected structure, composition, and number of candidates.

Delivering the closing remarks, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Huynh Thi Hang stated that immediately after the conference, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee will finalize the conference minutes and submit them to the National Election Council, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Provincial Election Committee. The committee will also prepare for the second step of the consultative process.
The Chairwoman also requested delegates to continue upholding their responsibility in participating fully in all steps of the consultative process, especially in nominating candidates for the 16th National Assembly in accordance with regulations and guidelines, and to study relevant legal documents in preparation for the second consultative conference.
She emphasized that in the coming period, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system and its member organizations at all levels must actively participate in election-related tasks, a process requiring urgency and high-quality performance. She also requested leaders of member organizations of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front and Standing Committees of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at commune and ward levels to pay close attention to guiding, directing, and inspecting election activities within their organizational systems, as well as participating in election supervision activities in line with the Law on Elections and regulations issued by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

At the first consultation conference on the structure, composition, and number of candidates for the Provincial People’s Council deputies for the 2026–2031 term, the conference voted unanimously to approve a total of 85 Provincial People’s Council deputies and 150 nominated candidates.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Huynh Thi Hang stated that based on the adjusted projections on the structure, composition and number of candidates provided by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee will promptly notify relevant agencies, organizations, and units assigned to nominate candidates. At the same time, guidance will be provided on the content, procedures, and documentation for the nomination process as required under the Law on Elections of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils, as well as Joint Resolution No. 102 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
