On December 3, the Provincial People’s Committee held a conference to honor outstanding role models among ethnic minority communities in Dong Nai Province for the 2023–2025 period.

Attending the conference were: Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Thi Hoang, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Le Thi Thai, Provincial Party Committee Member, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation; Nguyen Tan Phu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province; along with representatives from provincial departments and agencies.

At the event, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ton Ngoc Hanh presented congratulatory flowers on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee – Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to the conference; and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People’s Committee to 35 outstanding individuals from ethnic minority communities for the 2023–2025 period.

On this occasion, the Provincial Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs awarded Certificates of Commendation to 123 outstanding individuals from ethnic minority communities in Dong Nai.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Provincial Party Committee Member and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang congratulated the outstanding individuals who were commended at the conference.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang requested that all levels and sectors continue to thoroughly implement the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 65-KL/TW dated October 30, 2019, on continuing the implementation of Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW dated March 12, 2003, of the 9th Party Central Committee on ethnic affairs in the new context; along with the Government’s Resolution No. 10/NQ-CP dated January 28, 2022, which promulgates the Strategy for Ethnic Affairs for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2045. She emphasized that ethnic affairs must be viewed as a regular and long-term political task of strategic importance to the province’s stability and sustainable development.

She also called for strengthening the leadership and direction of Party committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and mass organizations at all levels in promoting patriotic emulation movements and expanding exemplary models in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Efforts should focus on discovering, selecting, and fostering exemplary collectives and individuals from emulation movements; nurturing new role models and those with outstanding achievements to serve as core examples.

Activities that promote the exchange, recognition, and widespread dissemination of exemplary models, as well as effective practices and successful initiatives, should be organized to create momentum for emulation movements in ethnic affairs and among ethnic minority and mountainous communities across the province.

She also stressed the importance of promptly commending, rewarding, and encouraging ethnic minority communities to promote self-reliance, determination, initiative, and the will to advance in socioeconomic development.
