In the run-up to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, cultural researchers, artists, and intellectuals in Dong Nai Province have expressed their trust, expectations, and heartfelt contributions to the draft documents of the Congress.
Their opinions reflect a strong sense of responsibility, intellect, and aspiration to contribute, helping enhance the role of culture and the arts in building and developing the nation in the new era.
Placing people at the center, considering culture as the foundation for development
Dr. Nguyen Van Quyet, former Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Chairman of the Vietnam–Japan Friendship Association of Dong Nai Province, stated that the documents of the 14th National Party Congress reaffirm the pivotal role of culture and the Vietnamese people in the cause of national construction and defense, regarding them as the spiritual foundation and an essential endogenous resource for sustainable development.

“I hope that in the coming period, there will be more concrete mechanisms and proportional investment in culture to awaken and promote the potential of every locality and every Vietnamese individual in the new era. Special attention should be paid to preserving and promoting cultural values in the context of international integration, as well as to educating young generations about ethics, lifestyle, and civic responsibility to strengthen national unity. In addition, the Party should focus more on people-to-people diplomacy, especially at the grassroots level.” - Dr. Quyet shared.
Pham Van Hoang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association, said that amid the country’s dynamic transformation, artists in Dong Nai in particular and across the nation in general are placing high expectations on the 14th National Party Congress - a congress that will open up new horizons for the development of culture and the arts.
According to Hoang, culture and the arts are not merely “spiritual nourishment” but also a form of soft power that shapes the soul, character, and pride of the nation. Therefore, the Congress documents should “open the way” for cultural development, enabling artists to confidently create works that truthfully reflect the pulse of life and spread humanistic values throughout society.
Poet Minh Ha, a member of the Literature Division of the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association, remarked: “What impresses me most is that the documents reaffirm the role of literature and the arts in building new Vietnamese citizens. Beyond investment policies, support for creation, publication, and promotion, it is essential to bring literature and the arts into schools. Culture and art are the threads that bind Vietnamese people together in the journey of building and defending the nation, helping shape aesthetic taste and social character”.
Inspiring the strength of national unity
From the perspective of people-to-people diplomacy, Mai Van Nhon, Chairman of the Vietnam–ASEAN Friendship Association of Dong Nai Province, praised the emphasis on foreign affairs and international integration as key and regular tasks in the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress. This reflects not only the Party’s strategic vision but also Vietnam’s growing confidence and stature in the era of integration and development.
Nhon expressed hope that through cultural diplomacy, Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular will continue to attract investment and create opportunities for young people to advance their careers. This, he said, would help strengthen solidarity, friendship, and cooperation while promoting Vietnam’s image within the ASEAN community and around the world.
In the field of education, Trinh Thi Tam, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Study Promotion Association and former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Binh Phuoc Newspaper, emphasized that in the era of national renewal, achieving the goal of developing comprehensive human and cultural values requires the orientation of a “learning society”, where everyone has lifelong access to education. Spreading knowledge, she added, will serve as a solid foundation for national progress.
From the perspective of a soldier who once experienced war, veteran Nguyen Quoc Hoan from Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai Province, expressed his deep trust in the leadership of the Party. According to him, the documents of the 14th National Congress clearly express the aspiration to build a powerful, civilized, and modern nation, with the people as the central subjects of all policies.
With trust, expectations, and heartfelt contributions to the 14th National Congress documents, artists, intellectuals, and citizens of Dong Nai are joining hands to realize the goal of building a “prosperous people, strong nation, democratic, just, and civilized society”. These contributions not only enrich the country’s cultural identity and strengthen the spiritual power of the nation but also accompany the cause of national construction and development in the new period.
“I hope the Party and the State will continue to pay greater attention to practical policies supporting veterans in difficult circumstances. Such timely and compassionate care is not only an expression of gratitude for their sacrifices but also a powerful source of encouragement, helping them stabilize their lives and continue upholding the tradition of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in their communities.” - Hoan said.
