The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in Dong Nai Province includes 1,770 grassroots committees at the villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods, 95 commune-level VFF committees, and 27 affiliated organizations. The VFF committees memberships at all levels feature representatives from all ethnicities, religions, social classes, as well as both domestic and overseas Vietnamese.

This highlights the VFF role in uniting different segments of the population to build the great unity home in Dong Nai Province.

A place of community cohesion

Dong Nai Province is home to a large, ethnically and religiously diverse population, with a long border and a strong influx of residents and workers from other regions nationwide. More than 60% of the province’s nearly 4.5 million people are religious adherents, while over 406,000 citizens belong to ethnic minority groups. The province is also the origin of a notable number of overseas Vietnamese.

Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial VFF Committee, said that through outreach, mobilization, and particularly recently, as the Standing Committee of the provincial VFF Committee coordinated with localities to successfully organize the first congresses of commune-level VFF Committees, for the 2025–2030 term — the commune-level Fronts have connected nearly 6,000 individuals to serve as members of the commune-level VFF Committees. These members represent a broad cross-section of society, including ethnic minorities, religious communities, professionals, intellectuals, artists, artisans, and leaders of local associations and organizations.

“I sincerely appreciate the invitation to comment on the draft documents organized by the provincial VFF Committee. To the best of my ability, I have offered frank and constructive feedback to support the committee in carrying out its work effectively.”

Father Tran Xuan Thao, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee and Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Committee, said that religious dignitaries and officials serving as VFF members throughout Dong Nai have played a crucial role in bridging the Fronts with the faithful in implementing patriotic emulation movements, and ensuring that the congregation’s views and requests are promptly conveyed to the relevant authorities.

Trieu Van Tich, a resident of Dak Lua Commune, said that as a respected figure among ethnic minority communities, he channels community feedback to the commune-level VFF and relevant authorities, and provides updates back to the community to reassure residents and encourage compliance with the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws.

As for intellectuals and experts from various sectors brought together by the VFF at all levels, each individual plays a key role in the professional activities organized by the Front, particularly in social oversight and public consultation. In addition, the VFF has maintained strong connections with retired officials, listening to their opinions during the planning and execution of programs and initiatives.

Retired officials contribute their experience and insights to the planning and execution of programs and initiatives.

TRAN QUANG TOAI, Chairman of the Provincial Association of Historical Sciences, said that as a Provincial VFF Committee member, he and other members have actively participated in social oversight and public consultation. Their feedback and recommendations were carefully noted and taken into account by the organization throughout its operations.

Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial VFF Committee, highlighted that the current committees are a consolidation of the former VFF and five political organizations: the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Women’s Union, the Farmers’ Association, the Veterans’ Association, and the Labor Federation. Specifically, the Standing Committee of the Provincial VFF Committee includes a Chairwoman who also serves as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; a Standing Vice Chairman who is a member of the Party Standing Committee; and eight other Vice Chairpersons, five of whom simultaneously lead the five political organizations. This operational model is set to remain in place for the new term, ensuring consistency and coordination across all activities under the principle: “Unified action, seamless coordination.”

Uniting the community for Dong Nai’s progress

By bringing people together and fostering community connections, the VFF at all levels has become a common home, encouraging solidarity and joint effort for the development of Dong Nai Province.

Tran Thuy Tien, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations, hands over a symbolic fund for housing construction to the Bu Gia Map Commune authorities to support local residents in need.

Over 2024 and 2025, the VFF and its member organizations led social welfare efforts with significant results. In response to the nationwide campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, the VFF Committees across the province have mobilized support from individuals, organizations, and businesses, leading to the removal of over 2,000 substandard homes in 2025. The province went on to mobilize resources to build and renovate more than 3,600 solid houses, with these efforts continuing.

Dieu Co, a resident of Bu Gia Map Commune, said that in November 2025, thanks to funding mobilized by the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations and coordinated by the local VFF Committee, his family was able to build a solid home, a development he described as a tremendous joy.

Over the same period, total contributions to social welfare programs across the province surpassed VND 1.3 trillion, of which over VND 124 billion went to local “Fund for the Poor” initiatives. In 2024, the Provincial VFF raised VND 161.6 billion to aid communities affected by natural disasters, and between October 3 and 31, 2025, it mobilized approximately VND 70 billion for post-disaster relief.

The first VFF Congress of Dong Nai Province for the 2025–2030 term is scheduled to take place on November 6–7, 2025.

Meanwhile, VFF Committees across the province have collaborated with religious groups, ethnic communities, and provincial agencies on initiatives addressing environmental protection and climate change, gratitude and humanitarian assistance, and policy-driven funding.

In particular, given that the province has a border spanning eight communes, VFF Committees at all levels have taken an active role in safeguarding national borders, promoting peace and friendship along the frontier, and linking inland partner localities to deliver aid to border communities. They have contributed to establishing multi-level schools in the eight border communes.

Ha Anh Dung stated that the theme of the first VFF Congress of the Dong Nai Province for the 2025–2030 term is to reinforce its core political role and the nation’s unity, while fostering self-reliance, resilience, innovation, creativity, and a shared commitment to building a green, prosperous, civilized, and modern Dong Nai. Among these priorities, strengthening the great national unity bloc will be a core task in the coming term.
