1st Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Congress, for 2025–2030 term opens

On the morning of November 12, the 1st Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Congress for the 2025–2030 term convened its official session, with the participation of 310 delegates representing nearly 972,000 women across the province.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU); Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Vice President of the VWU; Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; and Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the VFF of Dong Nai Province.

Also attending were members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, including Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission Tran Trung Nhan; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial VFF Committee Ha Anh Dung; along with Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors, mass organizations, Women's Unions of provinces and cities; former leaders of the Dong Nai province, former leaders of the Provincial Women's Union across different terms.

In her opening remarks, Comrade Le Thi Thanh Loan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial VFF Committee, and President of the Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Union emphasized that, recently, under the attention and close guidance of the VWU Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee, all levels of the Women’s Union in Dong Nai have promoted solidarity, dynamism, and creativity; proactively renewed their operational content and methods; led the women's movement to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; effectively organized the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress and the Resolution of the Provincial Women's Congress for the 2021-2025 period. These efforts have contributed significantly to the province’s economic, cultural, and social development, as well as to the strengthening of the political system, national defense, and security.

The 1st Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Congress aims to objectively and comprehensively assess women’s movements and the Union’s performance, and to determine goals, targets, and solutions for the new term in a scientific and practical manner that meets the demands of revolutionary tasks in the new period.

According to the political report presented at the congress, during the 2021–2025 period, women across Dong Nai overcame numerous difficulties and made important contributions in all areas. Through the implementation of the targets of the Resolution of the Provincial Women's Congress for the period 2021-2025, all 10 groups of targets have been achieved and exceeded, many by a wide margin. Emulation movements and campaigns were widely implemented, becoming a driving force for women to constantly train and to complete the criteria of the movement. The implementation of breakthroughs has been creative and effective.

The Provincial Women’s Union has given special attention to implementing key tasks, fulfilling its role in protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of women. The Union has also achieved positive results in policy advocacy, social supervision and criticism, and participation in building the Party and government. It has actively participated in building the 2-tier local government model, gradually stabilized and operated efficiently, contributing to the successful implementation of the economic, cultural, and social development goals, ensuring national defense and security of the locality.

Based on the achieved results, the congress outlined orientations and key tasks for the 2025–2030 term. In particular, the unions at all levels will focus on implementing 4 groups of targets on participating in socio-economic development; building cultural–digital families, communities, and environments; building union organizations. They will continue to promote the emulation movement “Building the Vietnamese Women of the New Era” in connection with the provincial campaign “Dong Nai Women Speak Kind Words, Do Good Deeds” and the movement “Building 5-no, 3-clean, 3-safe Families.” The unions at all levels should effectively deploy 2 breakthroughs in promoting digital transformation in union organizations; accompanying women to improve digital capacity; supporting women to start businesses and develop the economy.

The Provincial Women’s Union also focuses on 5 main tasks, including supporting women to develop comprehensively; mobilizing resources to implement gender equality for women's development; participating in building a clean Party and political system; participating in state management; and building a great national unity bloc. Another task is to develop members, build a professional and strong Union, promote the proactive role of the Union and women in people-to-people diplomacy.
