VFF Congresses of Phuoc Binh ward, Tri An and Song Ray communes for 2025-2030 tenure

On October 2, Member of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC), Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Dong Nai province and Chairman of the Provincial Labor Confederation (PLC) Nguyen Quoc Dung together with Nguyen Thanh Tu, Member of the PPC, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Tri An commune, attended the first VFF Congress of Tri An commune for the 2025-2030 tenure.

Tri An commune consists of 19 hamlets with a population of over 51,000. Eighty percent of its area is forest and Tri An reservoir.

During the last tenure, the commune’s VFF and its member organizations effectively implemented patriotic emulation movements; promptly grasped the sentiments and aspirations of the people, thereby strengthening the relationship between the people and the Party and State; promoted the strength of the great national unity bloc; and campaigned for residents not to cut down forests, hunt illegally, or use banned tools for fishing.

In the last tenure, the commune’s VFF mobilized the people to contribute over VND 869 million to the “For the poor” Fund; built and repaired 19 great solidarity houses; raised VND 468 million in support of disaster-affected people in the Northern region; and planted nearly 1,400 trees along 11.5 km of roads.

At the Congress, 145 official delegates representing people from all walks of life in the commune elected 52 members to the commune VFF Committee for the 2025-2030 tenure, and two delegates to attend the first Provincial VFF Congress. The Congress adopted its resolution, with a breakthrough task identified as strengthening IT application and promoting digital transformation in management, administration, and interaction with the people.

At its first congress, the Tri An commune VFF Committee for the 2025-2030 tenure elected the Standing Board, the Chairman and Vice Chairpersons. Nguyen Hai Bang was re-elected Chairman of the commune VFF Committee.

In his directive speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial VFF Nguyen Quoc Dung urged the Tri An commune VFF to promote proactiveness and creativity in the context of a streamlined apparatus; consolidate the great unity bloc right from residential areas; continue prioritizing social welfare and caring for the poor, policy families, and vulnerable groups as a crucial, regular and consistent mission throughout the tenure.

Dung emphasized a shift from providing direct support to creating sustainable livelihoods, assisting start-ups, vocational training, and job creation to help residents rise to prosperity. He also called for proactive mobilization of diversified socialized resources, the use of technology for transparent and effective fundraising, as well as attention to people’s spiritual life, ensuring that no one is left behind. This would further strengthen unity and public trust in the Party and government.

During the Congress, the Presidium launched a fundraising campaign in support of disaster-affected people. Accordingly, delegates contributed more than VND 46.3 million on the spot.

*Also on October 2, the Song Ray commune VFF Committee held its first Congress for the 2025-2030 tenure. Attending the event were the Provincial VFF Vice Chairwoman Luu Thi Ha, leaders of Song Ray commune and 150 official delegates.

In the last tenure, the commune VFF worked closely with the Party Committee, authorities, and mass organizations to launch practical movements and campaigns. Prominent among them was the campaign “The whole country joins hands for the poor – leaving no one behind,” through which 63 charity houses were built, nearly 1,900 scholarships, bicycles, wheelchairs, health insurance cards and thousands of gifts were provided to poor and near-poor households and policy families, with total funding of nearly VND 15 billion. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the commune VFF mobilized cash and necessities worth over VND 1 billion in support of frontline forces and disadvantaged people.

Implementing the campaign “All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas,” the commune VFF mobilized residents to donate land, labor, and funds to build 119 concrete roads worth more than VND 22 billion; build and upgrade 9 cultural houses; and plant 27 km of flower roads, contributing to the transformation of rural landscapes. Each year, over 99% of households earned the title “Cultural family,” and 100% of hamlets maintained the title “Cultural hamlet.”

In her directive remarks, provincial VFF Vice Chairwoman Luu Thi Ha commended the outstanding achievements of the commune VFF in the last tenure. She urged the commune VFF to continue fostering solidarity, renewing its activities, enhancing supervision and social criticism, ensuring effective social welfare work, and streamlining its apparatus. At the same time, she called for improving the quality of VFF working boards in residential areas – the “extended arm” of the Front – to better protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people.

The Congress elected 55 members to the commune VFF Committee for the 2025-2030 tenure. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh was elected Chairwoman of the commune VFF. The Congress also elected one delegate to attend the Provincial VFF Congress.

On this occasion, the commune VFF presented 2,000 gifts worth VND 500 million to disadvantaged children and families.

Attending the Congress were Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial VFF Nguyen Tan Phu, Member of the PPC and Secretary of the Party Committee of Phuoc Binh ward Huynh Thi Thuy Trang, along with 147 official delegates representing local residents.

During the last tenure, the Phuoc Binh ward VFF promoted communication, mobilization, and unification of the people to actively engage in major campaigns and patriotic movements.

Implementing the emulation campaign “Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide,” from 2024 to 2025, the ward surveyed and built three new houses worth VND 300 million and repaired eight others worth VND 245 million.

The ward VFF acted as a core force, working together with the political system to effectively implement the campaign “All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas.” Through this initiative, each residential area was encouraged to register for emulation, motivating residents to compete in solidarity – household to household, neighborhood to neighborhood – through specific targets and concrete actions.

With the theme “Promoting the political core role of the ward VFF, continuing to innovate activities, and harnessing the strength of great national unity for the goal of building Phuoc Binh ward increasingly prosperous and civilized,” the Congress set nine specific targets and six action programs for the new tenure.

The Congress elected 63 members to the ward VFF Committee for the 2025-2030 tenure, and elected delegates to attend the first Provincial VFF Congress, 2025-2030 tenure. Ha Tan Tan was elected Chairman of the ward VFF Committee, for the 2025-2030 tenure.
