During the 2020-2025 term, the Youth Union and youth movements of Regiment 717 achieved numerous comprehensive and outstanding results, affirming their essential role in training and combat readiness. Inspection results showed 100% met requirements, with 78-80% rated as good or excellent. The emulation movement in production and labor associated with national defense and security tasks recorded significant achievements, with over 97% of workers recognized as skilled tappers, and annual rubber latex output consistently exceeding targets. All officers and Youth Union members strictly complied with discipline, with the unit recording no serious violations for many consecutive years.

Additionally, the Regiment’s youth actively collaborated with local authorities and twinned units to organize practical social welfare activities such as visiting and giving gifts to policy beneficiary families, supporting disadvantaged households, providing free medical check-ups and medicines, and implementing the “Supporting Children to School” program. These efforts helped to promote the noble image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in the hearts and minds of the people along the Vietnam-Cambodia border, where the unit is stationed.

Entering the 2025-2030 term, Congress adopted the action slogan: “The youth of Regiment 717 remain united, steadfast, pioneering, creative, determined to win.” It established two key breakthroughs: enhancing political steadfastness, training discipline, and training quality; and promoting the labor and production movement linked with digital transformation, fostering initiatives, and technical improvements. The targets include: 100% of officers and Youth Union members thoroughly understanding the Party’s resolutions and directives; 100% of training results meeting requirements, with 80% rated as good or excellent; 100% of key officers trained in digital technology; over 90% of members mastering digital transformation objectives; at least 50% of members proposing initiatives that apply technology in Youth Union activities and youth movements; and annually recommending 1-2 outstanding members to the Party for consideration of admission.
