The lingering impressions of a Congress filled with many notable achievements will continue to resonate, carrying faith and hope for a new stage of development in Dong Nai province.
Recognizing the province’s advantages
Member of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Deputy Head in charge of the PPC’s Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Thi Hong Trang said the process of drafting the Political Report presented at the 1st Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 tenure identified eight key advantages of the province including: a population of nearly 4.5 million (ranking fifth nationwide), the ninth-largest land area in the country, and the fourth-largest economy. With over 131,000 Party members, Dong Nai possesses an abundant, diverse, and well-qualified workforce capable of meeting development demands in the new era.
Dong Nai is home to a diverse mix of ethnicities and religions, rich cultural and historical traditions, and an extensive system of tangible and intangible heritage. These form a solid foundation for the development of culture, tourism, and community cohesion.
Dong Nai holds a strategic position at the intersection of three of the six national key economic regions, adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City - the country’s largest economic hub.
Dong Nai also has a 258.939km border with Cambodia and Hoa Lu international border-gate economic zone, providing a vital gateway for expanding cooperation in terms of cross-border trade, services, and investment.
The province is among the few localities with a comprehensive multimodal transportation network, including road, rail, air, maritime, and inland waterways. The Long Thanh International Airport, the Southeast Asia’s largest airport project, along with multiple expressways, plays a pivotal role in national and international supply chains.
Particularly, the formation of the Long Thanh Airport urban area and the Dong Nai River corridor is creating a “dual engine” driving growth in services, trade, logistics, real estate, finance, and tourism.
Currently, Dong Nai ranks among the top provinces in Vietnam in terms of the number and scale of industrial zones. Agriculture remains a traditional strength, with more than one million hectares of farmland, and the province is regarded as the country’s “livestock capital.” Its abundant natural resources and diverse ecosystems provide strong potential for eco-tourism, leisure, and nature conservation.
With all these advantages, Dong Nai is fully equipped for a “golden opportunity” to accelerate growth in the coming years.
At the 1st Provincial Party Congress, delegates agreed on 29 key targets for the 2025–2030 tenure, including an average annual GRDP growth rate of 10% or higher, a digital economy share exceeding 30% of GRDP, an average annual state budget revenue growth rate of 10–12%, and a per capita income of 120 million VND per year.
During this tenure, the province aims to develop Dong Nai into a green, prosperous, civilized, and modern locality, striving to meet the basic criteria of a Centrally governed city by 2030.
Secretary of the PPC and Head of Dong Nai’s National Assembly Delegation Vu Hong Van emphasized that immediately after the Congress, all Party organizations across the province must promptly study, disseminate, and communicate the Congress documents to all cadres, Party members, and the public. They must develop concrete action programs, launch extensive patriotic emulation movements, and turn the spirit of the resolution into determination, and determination into action, to achieve the goals set by the Congress. The ultimate objective is to improve the material and spiritual well-being of the people, especially in remote, isolated, and ethnic minority areas.
The success of the 1st Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 tenure not only affirms the province’s spirit of unity, steadfast faith, and determination for renewal and development but also generates new momentum and enthusiasm to decisively bring the resolution to life from the very beginning of the term.
New momentum and renewed confidence
Following the success of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, Party committees, agencies, and units across the province have initiated a variety of meaningful and practical activities to celebrate the event.
Party Secretary and Chairwoman of People’s Council of Tam Phuoc ward Nguyen Thi Phuong said that immediately after the success of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, Tam Phuoc ward’s Party Committee launched a campaign featuring several practical activities such as beautifying the premises of the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; the Cultural, Sports, and Community Learning Center; and the ward’s Health Station. Officials, civil servants, agencies, mass organizations, armed forces, and youth unions all joined in cleaning up the environment, clearing bushes, and organizing public spaces. These meaningful actions created a strong ripple effect, reaffirming the pioneering and exemplary role of Party members, officials, civil servants, soldiers, and young people in Party building, local governance, and public service. The success of the 1st Provincial Party Congress has become a powerful source of motivation and confidence for the entire officials, Party members and people of Tam Phuoc ward to remain united and strive to achieve the goals and tasks set out in the resolution.
Secretary of Chon Thanh ward’s Party Committee Nguyen Minh Binh affirmed that the ward always regards developing construction industries and trade while improving living standards as core mission, and building a green, civilized, and modern urban area as strategic goal. This presents both opportunities and challenges, requiring decisive participation from the entire political system and the people. With strong political will, unity, and responsibility from the Party, government, and residents, Chon Thanh ward is determined to fulfill its objectives. Chon Thanh ward’s Party organization, government, and people pledge to join hands with the entire Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee to help build a “green, prosperous, civilized, and modern” province.
The success of the 1st Provincial Party Congress marks a particularly significant political event, signifying a new phase of development for the province and opening a new chapter of growth in scale and stature.
