The task of forest management and protection carried out by on-site forest rangers and specialized forest protection forces in Dong Nai province plays a vital role in safeguarding the province’s “green lungs.” Their work helps maintain ecological balance, promote sustainable development, and enhance the quality of life for residents in the locality.

Dong Nai province currently has a total forest and forestry land area of over 370,000 hectares, representing a valuable natural resource for the nation
Taking on the crucial assigned task, the mobile forest rangers (under the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve Forest Protection Unit) coordinated with the forest rangers in charge of the area to conduct closed patrols of the area
Crossing forests and wading streams is a year-round job for the forest protection force at the base; each ranger and specialized forest protection staff member patrols an average of 15 to 20 km/day through the forest

Forest protection is carried out year-round, regardless of weather conditions or time of day. The rainy season is when "forest bandits" often exploit security gaps to enter the forest unlawfully and hunt wildlife or harvest forest products. During this period, on-site forest protection units focus on strengthening patrols and maintaining round-the-clock guard posts at key locations to ensure the safety of forest trees and wildlife.
