At the award ceremony, Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo Member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Head of the Competition’s Steering Committee, stated that the highlight of this year’s entries was their focus on analyzing and explaining new, topical themes that have emerged recently. Many works closely followed major political and historical events of the country in 2025, such as the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2; the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification; recent significant strategic policies of the Party; and the arrangement, organization, and operation of the two-tier local government system.

In 2025, the contest received nearly 542,000 entries, an increase of over 73,000 compared to 2024 and many times higher than in its first year. This growth reflects not only the contest's strong appeal but also its wide-reaching influence in social life. The submissions demonstrated a serious and meticulous investment, striking a harmonious balance between theory and practice, combining sharp argumentative force with constructive depth, and achieving a high level of persuasiveness.

Dong Nai’s success in the contest goes beyond the number of awards won. More importantly, the movement to create political essays defending the Party has deeply permeated social life, helping to build a strong “shield” in cyberspace and strengthen society’s “resilience” against distorted and false arguments. This undertaking serves as a vivid example of implementing Resolution No. 35 through practical and effective actions, thereby contributing to the firm protection of the Party’s ideological foundations, reinforcing public trust, and providing momentum for sustainable national development in the new period.

The national political essay contest reaches “full maturity” after five seasons

Over five editions, the contest has affirmed its position as a prestigious “brand” and a particularly sharp “weapon” on the ideological front. While the early years focused on “launching” and “inspiring participation,” by its fifth edition, the contest had reached full maturity in quality, accompanied by explosive growth in scale and depth of influence.

Speaking on behalf of the Party and State leadership at the ceremony, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Nguyen Trong Nghia highly praised and commended the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Central Steering Committee 35, and central and local ministries and sectors for taking responsibility, achieving significant results in safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundations, combating and refuting wrongful and hostile viewpoints, and contributing substantially to the contest’s success. He also congratulated the authors and author groups receiving awards.

He expressed his hope and confidence that, with its established prestige and influence, the National Political Essay Contest on Safeguarding the Party’s Ideological Foundations will continue to innovate, closely follow practical requirements, serve the political tasks of agencies, units, localities, and the nation increasingly effectively, and contribute to the solid construction and defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
