Celebrating the 96th anniversary of the Indochinese Communist Party cell and the traditional day of Vietnam’s Rubber Industry

On October 22, at Mien Dong College (in Binh Phuoc ward), the Vietnam Rubber Group - Joint Stock Company (VRG) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Indochinese Communist Party cell and the traditional day of Vietnam’s Rubber Industry (October 28, 1929 – 2025).

 Attending the ceremony were Cao Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Finance; Bui Hoang Tung, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Government;  Nguyen Que Duong, Deputy Director of the Department for the Development of State Enterprises (under Ministry of Finance); representatives of various departments and agencies under the Ministry of Finance; international organizations; Tran Cong Kha, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of VRG; Le Thanh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, and General Director of VRG; along with former leaders of the Group through periods.

Representing Dong Nai Province were Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, as well as leaders of provincial departments, sectors, mass organizations, armed forces, and Thuan Loi commune authorities.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, delegates recalled the 96-year tradition of the founding of the Indochinese Communist Party cell and the tradition of Vietnam’s rubber industry. On the night of October 28, 1929, on the land of Phu Rieng, the Indochinese Communist Party cell was established, leading the struggle movement of rubber workers that gave rise to the heroic “Red Phu Rieng” movement.

Over the course of 96 years, Vietnam’s rubber industry has stood alongside the nation through every revolutionary phase, from the fight for national independence to the cause of national construction and defence. Entering the period of international integration, all officials and employees of the VRG pledge to continue the heroic and united tradition, to innovate and create without ceasing, to emulate in labor and production, contributing to building the Group’s sustainable development, worthy of the trust of the Party, the State, and the people.

Currently, the VRG is managing over 380,000 hectares of rubber plantations across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, providing stable employment for more than 84,000 workers. During the 2020-2025 period, the group achieved revenues exceeding 141 trillion VND, pre-tax profits of 27.5 trillion VND, and contributed 24.371 trillion VND to the state budget, surpassing plans by 5 to 10%. Workers’ average monthly income rose from 9.4 million VND in 2020 to over 11.5 million VND in 2024. In terms of social welfare, VRG has contributed more than 500 billion VND to community programs and built hundreds of “Trade Union Warm Houses.”

Congratulating VRG on its recent achievements, Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, affirmed that the development of Dong Nai province has always been marked by the contributions of the rubber industry. He expressed confidence that, building on the heroic “Red Phu Rieng” tradition and a pioneering, united, and innovative spirit, the Group’s Party Committee will continue to strengthen Party leadership, fulfill political tasks across the industry, and take care of the lives of officials, employees, and workers.

Furthermore, he urged VRG to accelerate digital transformation and incorporate science, technology, and information technology into management and administration; maintain and improve the quality of rubber products while increasing added value within the product value chain; strengthen international economic integration by focusing on brand value enhancement and expanding global markets; and continue supporting Dong Nai province on its journey toward green, prosperous, civilized, and modern development, along with the nation as it confidently advances into a new era of growth.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan praised the efforts of generations of VRG cadres and employees. At the same time, he requested VRG to continue promoting the tradition and role of the Party organization, the comprehensive leadership role of the Party Committee in all aspects of the unit's activities; fully and promptly implement the direction of the Ministry of Finance on the production - business and investment plan for 2025; continue to restructure comprehensively, streamline the apparatus, rearrange member units; proactively integrate internationally through expanding joint ventures, partnerships, developing consumer markets; focus on economic development along with caring for the lives of workers...

At the anniversary ceremony, 8 individuals who demonstrated outstanding achievements in their work, contributing to the cause of building socialism and protecting the Fatherland, were honored with the Third-Class Labor Order by the President. Additionally, 7 individuals received the “Red Phu Rieng” Award for 2025, and 18 individuals were presented with the Vietnam Rubber Awards by VRG.

On this occasion, VRG officially announced the certification trademark “VRG GREEN” and honored two pioneering units, including Phu Rieng Rubber One-Member Limited Liability Company and Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Joint Stock Company, for their outstanding achievements in developing low-emission rubber products under the Group’s “VRG GREEN” brand.
