VFF Congresses of Xuan Duong and Dong Tam communes, 2025–2030 term

(ĐN) - On the morning of September 23, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Xuan Duong Commune held its first Congress for the 2025–2030 term. Attending were Luu Thi Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial VFF Committee; standing members of the commune’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and VFF Committee; along with 150 delegates representing people from all walks of life in the commune.

Xuan Duong Commune was established through the merger of three former localities: Xuan Duong, Thua Duc (formerly in Cam My District), and Cam Duong (formerly in Long Thanh District). Covering over 8,200 hectares with nearly 27,000 residents from 10 ethnic groups, the commune is well positioned to strengthen unity and achieve comprehensive development in this new phase.

Under the motto “Solidarity – Democracy – Renewal – Creativity – Development”, the congress reviewed the implementation of resolutions in recent years, highlighting achievements in fostering civil unity, socio-economic growth, social welfare, and national defense and security.

Nguyen Huu Le, Chairman of the VFF Committee of Xuan Duong Commune for the 2025–2030 term, stated: “In the new term, the commune’s VFF Committee will continue to harness the strength of great national unity, renew working methods, and maintain close ties with the people, contributing to socio-economic progress, social order, and the building of a more prosperous and civilized commune.”

In the new term, Xuan Duong’s VFF determines to keep renewing its activities, serving as a bridge between the Party, authorities, and the people, and effectively implementing emulation drives and major campaigns such as “All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas” and “Vietnamese prioritize Vietnamese goods.” It will also expand support for poor households and families entitled to state welfare, such as those of war veterans and martyrs.

The congress agreed to elect 59 members to the commune’s VFF Committee for the new term and selected two delegates to attend the higher-level congress.

With broad consensus among officials, Party members, and people from all walks of life, the Congress reaffirmed its determination to consolidate the great national unity bloc and promote sustainable development for a prosperous and civilized commune.

Also on the morning of September 23, the first VFF Congress of Dong Tam Commune for the 2025–2030 term took place, with 148 out of 150 official delegates in attendance.

In recent years, the commune’s VFF and member organizations have effectively launched patriotic movements. From the campaign “All People Unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas”, the commune mobilized residents to contribute over VND 1.5 billion, donate 1.5 hectares of land and crops worth VND 3.7 billion, and volunteer 500 workdays to build 16 cement roads and five flower-lined streets spanning dozens of kilometers.

As part of the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, in 2025, the commune’s VFF helped build 34 great solidarity houses worth over VND 2.7 billion. In addition, the commune’s VFF also repaired 7 homes for poor households, with the total cost amounting to VND 280 million.

The congress reached a consensus to elect 51 members to the Executive Committee of the first Dong Tam Commune’s VFF Committee for the 2025–2030 term and selected delegates to attend the first Provincial VFF Congress, also for the same term.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Huu Nguyen, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial VFF Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial Farmers’ Association, praised the commune’s achievements despite its broad territory, large population and diverse ethnic composition. He emphasized it is the strength of the great national unity bloc that  has enabled the local VFF to deliver significant results.

Looking ahead, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial VFF Committee urged the Dong Tam Commune VFF to innovate its communication and outreach methods, strengthen social supervision and feedback, and harness community creativity to further advance patriotic movements. For social welfare, he highlighted the need to shift from a sole focus on poverty reduction to fostering aspirations for prosperity among residents, contributing to both local and provincial development

Guided by the principles of “Solidarity – Democracy – Renewal – Development,” the congress adopted a resolution outlining 10 targets and 6 key action programs for the new term. The aim is to further innovate its content and methods of operation. The Front will also diversify forms of communication and mobilization. At the same time, the congress emphasized strengthening the great national unity bloc and improving the effectiveness of the VFF’s activities. Together, these efforts will contribute to the continued development of Dong Tam Commune.
