On the morning of September 23, the 3rd Regiment of the 9th Division, 34th Army Corps, held a solemn ceremony to mark its 60th anniversary (September 23, 1965 – 2025) and to receive the Third-Class National Defense Order.

Attending the ceremony were Colonel Ha Viet Lien, Deputy Commander of Army Corps 34; Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chair of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province, along with other delegates.

Commemorating 60 years of establishment, combat, victories, and development, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quoc Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander of the 3rd Regiment, stated that on September 23, 1965, at the Lam Kinh historical site in Thanh Hoa province, the 95C Regiment, the predecessor of today’s heroic 3rd Regiment, known as the Hoa Lu Regiment, was officially established.

Over the past 60 years of formation, combat, and development, generations of officers and soldiers of the regiment have fought bravely and achieved numerous resounding victories. In recognition of their accomplishments, the Party and State have conferred many prestigious honors, including the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, various orders and medals, and other high-level commendations awarded to both collectives and individuals. They have built and carried forward the proud tradition of “unity, bravery, self-reliance, perseverance, every deployment leads to victory, every battle brings decisive success.” On the occasion of its 60th founding anniversary, the 3rd Regiment was awarded the Third-Class National Defense Order by the Party and State.
Building on the heroic legacy of the 3rd Regiment, Hoa Lu Heroic Regiment, its officers and soldiers have consistently performed their duties with distinction. In the first eight months of 2025, the regiment completed all assigned missions thoroughly. Priority has been given to strengthening a clean and resilient Party Committee, while building the unit into a comprehensively capable, exemplary force. The personnel demonstrate steadfast determination and are always prepared to undertake and excel in their missions.

Colonel Ha Viet Lien, Deputy Commander of the 34th Army Corps, attended and delivered remarks at the ceremony. He called on the Party Committee, the Regiment’s leadership, and all officers and soldiers to honor the proud legacy of their predecessors, uphold the unit’s heroic traditions, and further strengthen the Party organization to ensure it remains clean, resilient, and effective. He emphasized the importance of shaping the regiment into a comprehensively strong and exemplary force, fully prepared to excel in all assigned duties worthy of its role as a key mobile unit in the southern region.
Authorized by the State President, Colonel Ha Viet Lien conferred the Third-Class National Defense Order upon Regiment 3.

To mark this occasion, General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense, sent a commendation letter to the officers and soldiers of the unit. Vo Tan Đuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, awarded Certificates of Merit to the officers and soldiers of Regiment 3.
