At the Dai Nga Hydropower Plant in Lam Dong province, My Hung Tay Nguyen Joint Stock Company (MHTN), the plant’s operating unit, recently held a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of its operations (September 6, 2015 – September 6, 2025). The event was an opportunity for staff, partners, and delegates to reflect on a decade of construction and development, while reaffirming the consistent guidance and support of its parent company, Thac Mo Hydropower Joint Stock Company (TMP).
TMP’s leadership role as parent company
Holding a controlling stake of 99.78% in My Hung Tay Nguyen JSC, Thac Mo Hydropower JSC plays a central role in shaping and steering the company’s development strategy. Throughout the operational journey, TMP has directly assigned personnel to take on concurrent leadership roles, ensuring that My Hung Tay Nguyen JSC operates in a safe, effective, and strategically aligned manner.
The close and consistent guidance from TMP has served as a “compass,” enabling My Hung Tay Nguyen JSC to navigate the challenges of its formative years and gradually affirm its position in the power generation industry. With TMP’s strategic vision, My Hung Tay Nguyen JSC has laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth over the past decade.

Contributing over 420 million kWh of electricity
Construction of the Dai Nga Hydropower Plant began in 2012, and the plant officially commenced commercial operations on October 2, 2015. Over the past ten years, it has contributed more than 420 million kWh of electricity to the national grid. It has paid over 100 billion VND in taxes to the local budget, an average of more than 10 billion VND annually.
In addition to its core mandate of power production and business operations, the company has placed strong emphasis on meaningful social welfare programs, including support for school construction, road development, housing for disadvantaged families, and assistance for underprivileged students and policy beneficiary households.
Notably, the Dai Nga Hydropower Plant not only provides a stable source of electricity but also positively impacts agriculture in areas adjacent to the reservoir. It ensures minimum downstream flow for daily use, agricultural and industrial production, while also playing a role in flood warning, disaster prevention, environmental protection, and landscape enhancement within the project area.

In his speech at the ceremony, Tran Ngoc Tan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of My Hung Tay Nguyen JSC, the operator of the Dai Nga Hydropower Plant, expressed sincere gratitude to government agencies, partners, and stakeholders who have accompanied the company throughout its development journey. He also highlighted the strategic direction, comprehensive support, and long-term investment provided by TMP, which laid the groundwork for Dai Nga’s current success.
