The Final: Promoting achievements of the August Revolution to build a prosperous Dong Nai

The spiritual legacy of the historic autumn 80 years ago continues to be renewed by the political system, the people, and the business community of Dong Nai through practical reflection, dynamic transformation, and creative application into breakthrough, feasible solutions and decisive actions, building this land into a green, prosperous, civilized, and modern region.

A springboard propelled by a “new revolution”

Speaking at the first meeting of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee after the landmark provincial merger, Secretary Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province, stressed: "The mission of the Party Committee and authorities during the 2025-2030 period is to build a prosperous people, a strong nation, and elevate Dong Nai to become a “rising dragon” on the S-shaped map of Vietnam. We have all the necessary conditions to achieve this, as the nation’s standing continues to be on the rise. The Party Committee must fulfil the instruction of Party General Secretary To Lam at all cost: “Solidarity – The truth of all eras”, a shared responsibility with “unity from top to bottom, smooth coordination across the board” throughout the political system.

Using specific work “outcomes” as the benchmark for the credibility and capacity of officials, while at the same time encouraging the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, and daring to take responsibility in order to turn urgent situations around and deliver the best possible results. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc has consistently held heads of agencies, units, and localities accountable under the principle of “six clarities”: clarity of person, clarity of task, clarity of authority, clarity of responsibility, clarity of time, and clarity of results.

The vigorous pace of reform means the province’s development results are now measured in days and months. To secure double-digit growth, each commune and ward must deliver accordingly. This is why Dong Nai expedited the organisation of the Party congresses at the grassroots level in all 99 Party Committees, completing them as of August 15, half the timeline set by the central authorities. The light of the congress resolutions is being spread by more than 130,000 Party members across the entire provincial Party Committee into the daily life of every neighbourhood and hamlet, unleashing the collective strength of the people.

A pioneer in development

Under all circumstances, the people of Dong Nai have demonstrated resilience, intelligence, and responsibility, taking the lead in industrialisation and modernisation, joining the nation in overcoming poverty and backwardness, and contributing to building Vietnam into a developed, high-income country where people enjoy prosperity and happiness.

Today, Dong Nai ranks among the top nationwide in terms of economic scale, population, and area, boasting strong potential and competitiveness as it is prepared to "take off." Economic growth averaged 7.11% annually from 2020 to 2025, with a rate of 8.23% in the first half of this year. Its GRDP is approximately VND 694 trillion, ranking 4th nationwide; per capita GRDP exceeds VND 153 million, ranking 5th nationwide. Over the past five years, total state budget revenue has surpassed VND 445 trillion, keeping Dong Nai in 4th place in contributions to the national budget.

As the “industrial capital” with a highly open economy, the province has consistently maintained a trade surplus, with total import-export turnover over the past five years exceeding USD 168 billion. Thanks to its effective mobilization of a total development investment capital of 725 trillion VND during this period, the province has seen a significant transformation in its strategic infrastructure, particularly regional and inter-regional transport projects, including expressways, Long Thanh International Airport, and Phuoc An Seaport, laying the foundation for sustainable long-term growth.

Industrialisation and modernisation of agriculture and rural areas have also enabled Dong Nai to maintain its leading position in the number of model new-style rural communes and second place in the number of advanced new-style rural communes nationwide.

“The success of the August Revolution vividly demonstrated the immense strength of great national unity bloc under the Party’s leadership. Applying its lessons, Dong Nai places great importance on listening to the people’s opinions, caring for their practical interests, and promoting the spirit of creativity and resilience among its citizens, and at the same time promoting patriotic emulation movements to awaken the aspiration for development, turning the strength of the people into a powerful resource to advance this land towards prosperity, civilization, and warm-heartedness.

Dong Nai is now at a turning point of comprehensive spatial restructuring, identifying new growth drivers and key economic models, while flexibly adapting to digital transformation, green economy, and circular economy. To become the best version of itself and rise as a regional economic powerhouse, the province needs the Central Government’s consideration to soon grant special mechanisms as leverage, along with even more decisive and incisive leadership.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Advisory Council, remarked: "Dong Nai has gathered unique advantages and resources, generating a powerful driving force and momentum for the future with a keen aspiration to advance rapidly. What is needed are unconventional solutions, extraordinary efforts, and smart choices. If these conditions are met, Dong Nai will undoubtedly become one of the leading provinces in the country in the coming development phase."

Awakening the people’s strength to realise the aspiration to “rise”

How to awaken endogenous capacity within the community, to stir national pride as in and after the August Revolution, and to fully harness the strength of the great unity bloc of nearly 4.5 million officials, Party members and residents of Dong Nai, in order to continue writing new achievements in this era of rise, is an urgent matter that provincial leaders are actively seeking the optimal solutions for.

At this moment, the province is concretizing the core spirit of the Politburo's Resolution 68 on private economic development, determined to remove all barriers and create a favourable environment to support small enterprises, with the aim of enabling Dong Nai’s economy to regain rapid and robust momentum. If a wave of start-ups can be stimulated, the province’s already large private business sector will further expand, affirming its role as the most vital engine of the economy.

Fostering solidarity in overcoming challenges and practicing democracy in society is the "red thread" that enables Dong Nai to resolve institutional and policy issues, mobilize human resources, and refine a new governance model based on the principle of “centralised data but decisions made as close to the people as possible.”

Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, emphasised: “Resources must be allocated rationally and effectively, prioritising investment in projects and works with high ripple effect, ensuring fairness, transparency, addressing emerging social security issues, and stabilising people’s lives.”

The goal of building the homeland is also the ultimate destination that unites the Party’s will and the people's aspirations. This urges the people of Dong Nai to maintain their pioneering spirit, to “leapfrog” ahead, continuously writing the triumphant August anthem with vibrant, heroic notes named “prosperity” and “happiness.”
