According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak Province, following the merger of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces, Dak Lak has become a locality with a large population of ethnic minorities. The number of poor households remains high. Under the poverty standards for the 2022–2025 period, as of mid-2025, the province recorded 40,917 poor households, accounting for 5.08% of the population.

Per capita income remains low, and the livelihoods of ethnic minority communities still rely primarily on agriculture. Housing for poor and near-poor households remains temporary and inadequate, especially for poor households from ethnic minority groups, while available resources for housing support remain limited.

On behalf of the leadership of Dak Lak Province, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung emphasized that the financial support from Dong Nai Province is both substantial and deeply meaningful. It provides the Party Committee, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, socio-political organizations, and the people of Dak Lak with additional resources to care for those living in poverty, making a practical contribution to the emulation movement "Joining hands for the poor – leaving no one behind."

The support from Dong Nai will serve as a significant source of encouragement for the people of Dak Lak, especially those in difficult circumstances, helping them seize opportunities to escape poverty, build prosperous and happy lives, and contribute to the province’s socio-economic development.

Following the handover, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak Province will oversee the management, supervision, and proper allocation of the funds to ensure they are used effectively and reach the intended beneficiaries.

In Dong Nai, as part of the emulation movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide,” the province built 1,576 new homes while repairing 383 others in 2025, with a total value of nearly 122 billion VND. The province not only fulfilled its target but also completed the work six months ahead of the national schedule.
