To mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), on August 30, a working delegation of the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, led by Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Chanh, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs, participated in the Return-to-the-roots journey titled “In Search of Revolutionary Landmarks”

As part of the program, the delegation offered incense at the Special National Historical Site – Headquarters of the Liberation Army of Southern Vietnam (Ta Thiet Base) in Loc Thanh commune, Dong Nai province.

Here, they paid tribute at the Monument to Fallen Heroes; at the Temple honoring President Ho Chi Minh and military commanders.
Ta Thiet Base is a place of great historical significance in the resistance war against American imperialists, particularly during 1973–1975 period. The delegation also toured and learned about several sites within the historical complex.

During the program, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Phan Hoang Bao Long, the adopted child of Loc Thanh Border Guard Station; visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of the Loc Thanh Border Guard Station; and visited a border marker under the management of the station.
Sharing at the program, Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Chanh said: The Return-to-the-roots journey “In Search of Revolutionary Landmarks” is one of the activities of officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces, especially members of mass organizations within the provincial armed forces. Through this, it helps officers, soldiers, and members better understand the historical and cultural values of revolutionary sites and landmarks in the area.

At Loc Thanh Border Guard Station, Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Chanh acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the officers and soldiers of the station, especially after two months of implementing the two-level local government model.

The Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command emphasized that, in the spirit: “The station is home, the border is homeland, and the people of all ethnic groups are blood siblings,” officers and soldiers of Loc Thanh Border Guard Station continue to uphold the 50-year tradition of establishment, struggle, and growth of the provincial border guard force. They will also further strengthen the work of building and solidifying the all-people national defense posture, particularly the “border guard posture” and the “people’s hearts and minds” posture in the cause of firmly safeguarding national border sovereignty and security.
