Phuoc Binh ward leverages its advantages, striving for smart urban development

On the afternoon of August 13, the Party Committee of Phuoc Binh ward convened the official session of the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term. Nguyen Minh Hoi, a member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the Dong Nai Provincial Internal Affairs Committee, attended and delivered his directive speech at the congress.

Also attending the congress were Provincial Party Committee members, including Dieu Huynh Sang, Deputy Head of the Dong Nai Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, Secretary of the Phuoc Long Ward Party Committee, along with leaders of Party Building Committees; departments, agencies, and sectors; and 225 delegates representing 890 Party members of the entire ward Party Committee.

Phuoc Binh ward was formed through the merger of the former Phuoc Binh ward, Long Phuoc ward, Long Giang commune, and Binh Son commune, covering an area of 72.57 km² with a population of 44,771.

During the 2020-2025 term, despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges, Phuoc Binh ward achieved significant results across various sectors, thanks to the spirit of solidarity and the efforts of the entire Party Committee, along with the consensus of residents in the locality.

The local economy sustained a strong growth momentum, with the average annual production value growth rate reaching 14.33%, surpassing established targets. The economic structure shifted positively, consisting of 86.8% industry, 11.6% trade and services, and 1.6% agriculture. Total social investment exceeded VND 10,950 billion. Digital transformation and administrative reform made notable strides, with the ward consistently ranking among the top three in the province for digital transformation, and the information technology application index improving each year. Cultural and social sectors also achieved significant results, with 78.26% of schools meeting national standards and 73% of trained workers securing employment.

For the 2025-2030 term, Phuoc Binh ward aims to cultivate a cadre of officials with adequate qualifications, capacity, and credibility. Economic growth targets double-digit rates as directed by the province, emphasizing the enhancement of productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness. The ward plans to foster innovation, digital transformation, and administrative reform while effectively leveraging its geographical advantages and urban infrastructure to develop the economy rapidly and sustainably in the direction of industry, services, and trade. Efforts are underway to transform Phuoc Binh ward into a service and commercial hub, gradually progressing towards a smart city.

The congress set out clear directions, goals, tasks, and solutions for the 2025–2030 term, with 18 targets and 3 key breakthroughs. These include an average annual growth rate of total state budget revenue in the locality of at least 10%; an average annual growth rate of total product value in the ward of at least 10%; an increase in per capita income by over 16% by 2030 compared to 2025; and a proportion of schools meeting national standards reaching 84% or higher by 2030.

Speaking at the congress, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the Dong Nai Provincial Internal Affairs Committee Nguyen Minh Hoi commended the recent achievements in various areas of Phuoc Binh ward, emphasizing that these successes not only instill local pride but also positively impact provincial development.

He urged that, in the new term, the Ward Party Executive Committee must foster solidarity and unity within the entire Party Committee. Each member of the ward's Party Executive Committee, along with every cadre and party member, should prioritize internal cohesion as a fundamental requirement in Party building efforts.

The ward should mobilize all resources and measures, determined to achieve a double-digit growth target, aligning with the province as it enters a new national era. It is essential to significantly enhance the investment environment and promote the development of economic sectors. There is a need to advance the application and development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to create breakthrough momentum. It is crucial to urgently finalize and implement the action plan to execute the resolution with the spirit of "clear personnel, clear tasks, clear timelines, clear responsibility, clear products, clear authority."

Nguyen Minh Hoi emphasized that Phuoc Binh ward has numerous advantages regarding its location and infrastructure. The locality needs to fully exploit its potential and strengths to steadily develop the ward in line with the orientation set by the congress, which aims to maintain urban criteria, become a commercial and service center, and progress towards a smart city.
