Mobilising resources to make Bom Bo commune a highlight in economic, social, and tourism development

On the morning of 10 August, the Party Committee of Bom Bo Commune held its 1st Congress for the 2025–2030 term. Ha Anh Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, attended and gave his directive speech at the event.

Bom Bo commune was established through the merger of the former Bom Bo and Binh Minh communes. During the 2020–2025 term, despite a mix of favourable and challenging conditions, the Party Committee, local authorities, and residents made significant efforts, fundamentally achieving and surpassing the targets set out in the resolution. A noteworthy highlight was the mobilisation of resources to invest in the transport infrastructure system. To date, the commune has nearly 33 kilometres of paved roads and 20 kilometres of upgraded residential roads.

With the motto “Solidarity – Identity – Innovation – Breakthrough – Development”, the congress deliberated and adopted the direction, objectives, and tasks for the coming term, setting out 16 key targets along with 3 breakthrough programmes, with the determination to make Bom Bo a model for the province in terms of economic, social, and tourism development.

In his directive speech at the congress, Ha Anh Dung – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, affirmed that Bom Bo is a heroic commune with a steadfast revolutionary tradition, embodying the magnanimous spirit of great national solidarity. The people here are diligent and creative in labour and production.

Therefore, in the upcoming term, the Party Committee should focus on building a truly people-oriented, transparent, efficient, and effective government. Attention should be given to developing a cadre of commune officials and civil servants with firm political will, moral integrity, sufficient knowledge, competence, experience, and individuals who dare to innovate, take responsibility, match words with actions, and serve as a bridge between the people and the authorities, meeting the requirements of the new period.

Outlining measures for economic growth and improving living standards, Ha Anh Dung stressed the need to prioritise tourism development, foster sustainable agriculture with high economic value, promote livestock farming on a farm scale linked to production chains with assured disease and biosecurity standards, and establish specialised cultivation areas with planting area codes. Durian cultivation should be linked to value chain production and consumption. Local tourism should be developed in tandem with agricultural potential and the preservation of S’tieng ethnic culture, aiming for double-digit economic growth.

He urged that immediately after the congress, the commune swiftly implement the resolution with the clear requirements of “specific tasks, clear responsibilities, defined timelines, clear roadmaps, and tangible outcomes”, working towards the overarching goal of building Bom Bo into a comprehensively developed commune that offers its people a prosperous, fulfilling, and happy life.
