COORDINATING TO CARRY OUT MASS MOBILIZATION ACTIVITIES IN LOCAL AREAS

The first notable highlight is the strong coordination and effective implementation of a mass mobilization campaign by military units and members of the Veterans’ Association in the province to mark the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025). The campaign mobilized a large number of officers and soldiers from the provincial armed forces and military units, as well as Veterans’ Association members, to participate in its activities. This occasion was also the first mass mobilization campaign involving multiple coordinated forces since the implementation of the two-tier local government model.

Directly participating in mass mobilization activities in the two communes of An Phuoc and Phuoc Thai, Dong Nai Province, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Tham, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Artillery Brigade 96 under the Ministry of National Defense, said: Cadres and soldiers of the brigade propagated about War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the 80-year tradition of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), as well as the local and unit traditions among local cadres, Party members, and residents in the areas where the brigade carried out its mass mobilization work.

In coordination with veterans, residents in the locality, and the provincial armed forces, officers and soldiers participated in environmental clean-up efforts, beautifying over 18 kilometers of inter-hamlet roads in two communes and clearing more than 7,000 square meters of grounds at the Long Phuoc Commune Martyrs’ Cemetery. The brigade also contributed over 95 million VND to the “Gratitude Fund” of the two localities as part of the campaign. In addition, they jointly organized a candle-lighting ceremony in tribute to fallen heroes at the Long Phuoc Commune Martyrs’ Cemetery, paid respects to heroic martyrs at the Memorial Stele of Artillery Regiment 28 and the An Phuoc Commune Martyrs’ Temple, and presented 10 gift packages to policy beneficiary families. The total funding for activities conducted on the occasion of July 27 exceeded 120 million VND.

In addition, the unit also coordinated with local youth organizations to conduct a forum for young people and held musical and sports exchanges under the theme: “Youth Union members and association members with digital transformation, implementing the two-tier local government model - Responsibilities of youth". At the conclusion of this mass mobilization campaign, the brigade and three individuals were commended by the local Party Committee and authorities.

Cadres and soldiers from various military units, along with members of the Veterans’ Association, also actively participated in community advisory groups, working closely with local authorities to help effectively implement the two-tier local government model. According to Nguyen Canh Thao, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bu Dang Commune, the activities conducted by military personnel, veterans, and residents in the locality created a vibrant atmosphere of emulation leading up to the national celebration. These efforts focused on supporting hamlets and households in addressing challenges and difficulties following administrative mergers.

“Cadres and soldiers of military units, together with veterans in the commune, organized free medical check-ups and provided medication for over 350 residents, including more than 220 individuals from policy beneficiary families and people with meritorious service. They also joined local Youth Union organizations to hold a candlelight tribute at the commune’s Martyrs’ Cemetery. They also visited and offered encouragement to families of people with meritorious service in the area,” Nguyen Canh Thao added.

DETERMINED TO CARRY OUT THE PEAK EMULATION CAMPAIGN

According to leaders and commanders of relevant agencies and units, 100% of the units under the provincial armed forces and stationed military units have launched a peak emulation campaign under the theme: “Raise High the Red Flag of August – Compete to Achieve the Three Bests.” At the same time, they are implementing various projects and initiatives as part of the campaign, both to celebrate Party Congresses at all levels and to mark the upcoming national celebration.

Colonel Bui Dang Ninh, Provincial Party Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee, and Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, stated: Carrying out the peak emulation campaign, 100% of agencies and units, especially the Party organizations under the Provincial Military Party Committee, have registered to implement emulation projects to celebrate the Congress of the Provincial Military Party Committee, the Party Congresses at all levels, and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2)...

At the units of Military Region 7 and the Ministry of National Defense stationed in the area, cadres and soldiers have focused on various emulation activities closely linked to the successful fulfillment of their political tasks. Specifically, the peak emulation campaign has been integrated with the excellent performance of political duties by cadres and soldiers of Brigade 87, Chemical Corps, Brigades 25, 26, 75, Division 309, and Division 302 under Military Region 7, all of which have been effectively implementing the campaign.

Also achieving notable results in emulation activities toward the national celebration, cadres and members of the Veterans Association across the province have actively responded with a range of practical movements. These include promoting the “1+5” model (one veteran household monitoring five neighboring households), the “Veterans Participating in Crime Prevention” initiative by veterans in Phu Lam Commune, and accelerating emulation in production and poverty alleviation among veterans in communes such as Bu Dang, Bu Gia Map, and Dak O...

Pham Van Huy, Vice Chairman of the Veterans’ Association of Phu Lam Commune, stated: Veteran-led models that have been implemented effectively in the area for many years now continue to be strengthened, especially following the administrative merger and the implementation of the two-tier local government model. “Veteran cadres and members consider the promotion of effective models linked to new-style rural development and the management of model rural roads by veterans as practical activities to celebrate the upcoming national celebration,” Pham Van Huy said.

Many households in Phu Hop B Hamlet, Phu Lam Commune, have actively contributed labor, funds, and materials to help make the road increasingly well-lit, green, clean, beautiful, and safe.

Through a wide range of meaningful activities, officers and soldiers from military units, along with officials and members of the Veterans’ Association, are actively looking toward the upcoming national celebration. As Vu Van Ha, Chairman of the Phu Lam Commune Veterans’ Association, shared: In the past, our forefathers sacrificed their lives to win and defend national independence. Today’s generation must remain steadfast in preserving that independence and building a country that is increasingly dignified and prosperous, worthy of the sacrifices made by those who came before us.
