Hung Phuoc advances confidently and safeguards border security

On the morning of August 10, the Party Committee of Hung Phuoc Commune held its first Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission Tran Trung Nhan attended and gave a directive speech at the congress. Also present were representatives of the provincial Party-building committees, departments, agencies, and 159 Party members representing 373 Party members in the entire Party Committee of the commune.

The Congress took place in the context of Hung Phuoc’s recent merger with the former Phuoc Thien Commune. The total area of the commune now covers more than 18,718 hectares with a population exceeding 12,200, of which ethnic minorities account for 26.47%, and religious communities make up 14.43%. The commune shares a 54-kilometre border with the Kingdom of Cambodia.

During the 2020-2025 term, despite the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, unstable agricultural product prices, natural disasters, and diseases affecting crops and livestock, the Party Committees of the two communes led and directed the implementation to achieve comprehensive results. Specifically, the economy grew well with all 16 targets met or exceeded; five-year budget revenue surpassed VND 134 billion; and average income per capita reached VND 67.37 million per year. The economic structure shifted positively with trade and services accounting for 22.25%, and industry and construction for 10.95%. The new-style rural development program was implemented synchronously, mobilizing more than VND 326 billion for infrastructure investment, building 2 communes that meet new-style rural standards, and establishing two exemplary hamlets...

The work of building the Party and political system was strengthened. During the term, 64 new Party members were admitted, raising the total to 373 party members. The activities of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations were renewed, attracting over 740 Trade Union members and new members. National defense and security have been maintained, and border security has been ensured...

For the 2025-2030 term, the Hung Phuoc Commune Party Committee set goals of building a strong political system; promoting border potential and advantages for sustainable economic development; focusing on high-tech agriculture, border trade, eco-tourism associated with historical relics; ensuring national defense and security, and maintaining national border sovereignty; improving the material and spiritual life of the people; building the commune to meet advanced new-style rural standards. Accordingly, the Congress adopted 16 targets, 5 key tasks, and 3 breakthroughs in building the political system, socio-economic development, and maintaining defense and security.

In his directive speech at the congress, Member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission Tran Trung Nhan emphasized that Hung Phuoc is a border commune, predominantly agricultural, with a large ethnic minority population, facing many difficulties and challenges in socio-economic development and maintaining national defense and security. Therefore, the Party Committee must continue to build solidarity and unity, and arouse the aspirations to rise up, the dynamic and creative spirit of cadres, Party members and the people. It is necessary to build the pool of cadres and Party members with capacity, good moral qualities and political courage.

He also called for focusing on leading economic development, improving administrative reform quality, accelerating digital transformation, constructing key projects, taking care of the material and spiritual well-being of the people, raising legal awareness, contributing to promoting sustainable development and maintaining border security.
