Efforts underway to make Dong Xoai a civilized, ecological, and compassionate urban area

Promoting the proud tradition of “Dong Xoai blazing with heroic victories” during the struggle for national independence and reunification, in recent years, with determination, proactivity, and creativity in leadership and direction of the local Party committee and government, as well as the solidarity of all social strata, Dong Xoai has risen to achieve achievements across various fields. Notably, after the new government apparatus began operation, opportunities have opened for Dong Xoai ward to breakthrough and advance.

According to the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Dong Xoai ward, Dong Nai province, was established by merging two administrative units: Tien Thanh ward and Tan Thanh commune of the former Dong Xoai city, with a natural area of 81.33 km² and a population of 35,887. As a locality holding certain advantages for being one of two central wards of the former Binh Phuoc province, Dong Xoai benefits from well-invested infrastructure, systematically planned development space, and a diversified economy spanning industry, services, commerce, and agriculture. This foundation strongly supports Dong Xoai’s comprehensive development strides.

Achievements of the 2020-2025 term

Looking back at the 2020-2025 term, alongside the increasingly consolidated task of Party organization and construction, Tien Thanh ward and Tan Thanh commune achieved outstanding results in all fields. Remarkably, Tien Thanh’s determined journey from a commune to ward status saw many roads, electricity, schools, and health stations invested with modernization, improving both people’s lives and the urban face of Dong Xoai positively.

Meanwhile, although Tan Thanh was a suburban commune of the former Dong Xoai city, it also impressively transformed. Early in the 2020-2025 term, the commune met all criteria of the advanced new-style rural construction program, thus creating a fresh and modern appearance for the locality.

As one of residents benefiting from the locality’s development, Bui Khai, a 55-year-old Party member from Tien Thanh 7 neighborhood, said enthusiastically: “Following recent local changes, I am very glad because the Party’s resolutions have come into the daily lives of the people here. During the last term, from living standards and income to quality of electricity, roads, schools, and health stations, all have improved continuously, proving the right leadership of the Party committee and local government.”

Similarly, Nguyen Van Dong, a 42-year Party member from Tan Thanh 2 neighborhood, noted: “The most pleasing achievement of the past term was that the new-style rural construction program created a good, modern appearance for the locality. Infrastructure investment served people’s lives very well; consequently, household economies gradually improved positively, poverty was eliminated, and those in difficulties received local support. I believe Tan Thanh’s development, now Dong Xoai ward, truly matches the slogan ‘Development, civilization, compassion’.”

Alongside socio-economic life and strong infrastructure investment, during the past term, the governments of the two localities Tien Thanh and Tan Thanh were streamlined and became increasingly effective; the cadre team was trained, nurtured, and matured to meet new demands. These results vividly demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and creative innovation, a solid foundation for Dong Xoai to take confident steps into comprehensive development in the new term.

Leveraging advantages to accelerate Dong Xoai’s development

To successfully implement the general objectives in the draft Party Congress document for the 2025-2030 term, Dong Xoai has identified key targets across priority fields as a basis for leadership, direction, and mobilizing the entire political system and people. Especially, among nine groups of economic growth targets set by Dong Xoai Ward Party Committee, core targets include an average annual growth rate of gross product of 14% or higher. By 2030, industry and construction will account for 54.84%, commerce and services 35.59%, and agriculture will decrease to 9.57%, with sustainable high-tech and urban agriculture development. Average income per capita by 2030 is expected to increase 60% compared to 2025. Revenue collection targets assigned by the Provincial People’s Committee are to be met and exceeded with an average growth rate of 14% or more.

During the 2025-2030 term, Dong Xoai Ward Party Committee will implement three breakthrough programs:

(1) Synchronized investment in transportation infrastructure and urban renovation, focusing on inter-regional connectivity infrastructure (communes, wards, residential areas), linked with digital infrastructure development and smart urban services.

(2) Conservation and promotion of the cultural values of ethnic minorities in Bung Se neighborhood, combined with community tourism development, creating Dong Xoai’s unique cultural-tourism products.

(3) Accelerating science and technology application, developing digital economy, innovation, and building digital government, progressively turning Dong Xoai into a civilized, modern urban area.

Simultaneously, Dong Xoai continues effective investment in culture and society to improve spiritual life for all people, while maintaining national defense and security, building a disciplined, safe, and healthy society.

To achieve the set targets, Dong Xoai will fully utilize existing advantages to propel sustainable development. Vu Van Muoi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of People’s Council of Dong Xoai Ward, shared: “We recognize three major advantages: first, abundant land and beautiful location, advantages for developing new high, quality urban areas; second, a young, dedicated cadre team; third, digital transformation, with most cadres skilled and digital infrastructure invested. These are the foundations for best serving people and businesses, thereby promoting economic and social life to meet people’s expectations.”

In the spirit of the guidance and leadership of the Party Committee, the joint effort of the entire political system, especially the effective operation of government apparatus, with a service and creative spirit, plays a key role. Duong Hoai Pha, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Dong Xoai People’s Committee, added: “Right after starting operations under the new government model, we determined to shift from management to creation, centering on people and businesses to serve quickly and effectively. We also must make breakthroughs in applying science and technology in management towards digital government, providing 100% Level IV online public services. In the near future, the Ward People’s Committee will continue to strive to direct and operate effectively, successfully implementing the resolutions set by the Party Congress for 2025-2030.”

The first Dong Xoai Ward Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term took place amid the country and locality getting ready to enter the era of “nation’s rise.” All cadres, Party members, and people place high hopes on correct and strong Party policies to unlock all resources, promote great national unity, closely link Party will with people’s hearts, fostering the spirit of “self-reliance, confidence, self-strengthening, and national pride,” to make Dong Xoai ward a “civilized, ecological, and compassionate” urban area.
