The process of building an advanced new-style rural area in recent years has transformed the commune’s residential areas. Alongside state investment, local residents have contributed land, structures, and crops, as well as donated labor and matching funds to build public facilities worth over VND 100 billion. The percentage of households with access to electricity has reached 100%, while public lighting covers 95% of local roads.
With the theme “Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Innovation – Development,” the first Party Congress of Dong Phu Commune set out 20 targets, nine key tasks, and two breakthrough areas. The commune is positioned along a key economic corridor connecting major economic hubs and borders Ho Chi Minh City, with ample potential for developing high-tech agriculture, industry, and services linked to eco-tourism. These are seen as crucial comparative advantages to help Dong Phu rise as the economic and administrative driving force of eastern Dong Nai in the coming years.

Along with focusing on Party building and putting resolutions into practice, Secretary Tran Thi Phuong Hanh of the Binh Phuoc Party Committee suggested that the commune Party Committee should prioritize building a contingent of capable and qualified officials who are close to and engaged with the people, and effectively promoting a modern public administration in the current period. In addition, allocating resources for digital transformation, completing technical infrastructure, and promoting the development of the private economy are areas that should be prioritized to turn Dong Phu into an industrial commune oriented toward green and modern development by 2030.
