The whole country is in a jubilant atmosphere, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - 2025). In recent days, alongside youth across the country, Dong Nai youth have been taking practical actions to help spread patriotism and national pride.
Notable activities include “red covering” the social networks, such as: decorating the workplace with the national flag, taking pictures with the national flag and posting them on social networks, changing computer and phone wallpapers with the Proud of Vietnam wallpaper set…

"Red cover" social networks
For several days now, the desk of Tran Thi Viet Trinh, a specialist in the Youth Union and Children's Affairs Department of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (based in Tran Bien ward), has been adorned with small, neatly arranged national flags. On this occasion, she also updated her computer and phone screens, along with her personal Facebook profile picture, using the "Pride of Vietnam" wallpaper set.
Viet Trinh believes that spreading pride is not only an act of remembering and showing gratitude for the past, but also a way to demonstrate the courage, aspiration, and responsibility of young people in continuing to write the glorious history of the nation in the new era of national growth. "In addition to activities in response to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, I am currently building a TikTok channel called Peace is so beautiful!, to contribute to spreading love for the Fatherland to young people", Trinh added.
Le Thanh An, a 10A7 student at Dieu Cai High School (La Nga commune), shared: "These days, every time I scroll through social media, I see many people changing their profile pictures to ones with frames featuring the red flag with a yellow star, or taking photos with the national flag to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2. These images help me feel the spirit of solidarity and national pride more deeply. Changing profile pictures or updating wallpapers on computers and phones may seem like small acts, but they are meaningful ways for young people to express their love for the Fatherland and their national pride, joining millions of Vietnamese hearts in celebration of this great national holiday."
With that in mind, Thanh An also changed his profile picture as part of the "I Love My Fatherland" communication campaign launched by the Vietnam Youth Union.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, Youth Union and Association chapters across the province organized activities to express the younger generation’s gratitude to the families of martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and those who made contributions to the revolution.
To encourage young people to actively spread love for the Fatherland and national pride on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, Youth Union chapters across the province have launched the Vietnam Pride Communication Campaign. The campaign highlights the stature and significance of the August Revolution and National Day, the nation’s achievements over the past 80 years, and stories of young people who carry forward the spirit of these historic events. In particular, the campaign seeks to “flood” social networks in red by encouraging profile picture changes, posts, images, and video clips showcasing pride in the national flag. At the same time, offices, schools, and public spaces are adorned with Party and national flags.
Spreading by action
In addition to the social media communication campaign, Youth Union and Association chapters at all levels, along with union members, association members, and young people across the province, have also promoted patriotism and national pride through concrete, meaningful actions.
More than 10 days ago, Youth Union and Association chapters across the province simultaneously held the “I Love My Fatherland” Flag-Salute Ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2. During the ceremony, union members, association members, and young people sang the National Anthem while chanting slogans to express their love for the Fatherland and their steadfast faith in the Party and the revolutionary path chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho, and the people.

Following the flag-raising ceremony, many meaningful activities were carried out by Youth Union and Association chapters from the provincial level down to the grassroots. In addition to the ceremony, the Youth Union and Youth Association of Nhon Trach commune organized an incense offering at the Phu My Communal House for their members. They also held an August-themed activity under the banner "I Love My Fatherland." Through this event, the Youth Union and Association promoted and instilled in the younger generation the nation’s tradition of patriotism, spirit of self-reliance and resilience, and aspiration for peace.
Trinh Nguyen Dan Tram, Secretary of the La Nga Commune Youth Union, said: To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, the Commune Youth Union organized many activities. The most meaningful one was presenting the national flag and Uncle Ho's photo to the households of former youth volunteers and war veterans in the commune. Through this activity, the young generation is encouraged and express their gratitude to the veterans and former youth volunteers, those who devoted their youth to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
