Spreading spirit of patriotic emulation among ethnic minority and religious communities

Dong Nai has 43 organizations belonging to 11 religions with over 2.2 million followers. The province is also home to nearly 200,000 ethnic minority (EM) people. In the process of implementing patriotic emulation movements, EM and religious communities have actively responded and contributed through many specific and practical actions.

This demonstrates the joint efforts and solidarity of religious and EM communities in building a developed Dong Nai.

Most Venerable Thich Hue Khai, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province, said that since the beginning of the year, as the whole country and Dong Nai province have carried out many activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Dong Nai Buddhism has actively responded by organizing delegations to visit and express gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families, and support people with disabilities, lonely elderly people... Dong Nai Buddhism also participates in activities to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas by contributing funds for road construction, lighting systems... The total value that Dong Nai Buddhism has mobilized for social welfare work since the beginning of the year is over 40 billion VND.

In addition, religious organizations and EM communities also actively contribute to the conscription of citizens. According to Colonel Bui Dang Ninh, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, in 2025, among the 2,900 young people joining the army, 1,000 are children of religious communities and 205 are EM people. 11 district and city military commands coordinate with Party committees, authorities, religious organizations, and prestigious individuals in EM communities to implement many activities to express gratitude to policy families with meritorious services, implement military hậu phương policies, support poor families and people in difficult circumstances... with a total cost of over 5.8 billion VND.
