Addressing the event, Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh and Consul General Sok Dareth reviewed Vietnam-Cambodia relations, marked by unforgettable historical events when the two countries united to support each other in the struggles for national independence.
Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh said that Dong Nai is now investing in five projects in Cambodia. Since 2011 until now, Dong Nai has granted 36 scholarships to Cambodian students and will continue to offer these scholarships in the coming time. The Chol Chnam Thmay Festival is also held annually in Dong Nai to provide the opportunity for Cambodian students to celebrate their traditional New Year far from home in a festive atmosphere, he stressed.
On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Cambodia, Consul General Sok Dareth expressed his gratitude to the generations of Vietnamese Party and State leaders, volunteer soldiers for helping the country escape from the genocidal regime.

Mr. Sok Dareth highly appreciated the investment of Dong Nai enterprises in Cambodia. He wished to promote cooperation between Dong Nai and Cambodia's localities in the fields of agriculture, industry and culture – education, strengthen connections and exchanges between Vietnamese and Combodian students.
On this occasion, the Consulate General invited the Secretary and provincial leaders to visit Cambodia. He pledged to try his best to further deepen the friendship and solidarity between the two sides.
Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh expressed his sincere thanks and accepted the invitation with pleasure. He affirmed his belief that the exchanges between leaders of the two sides will contribute to the traditional friendship as well as the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and peoples.
