The 11th Congress of the Dong Nai Party Organization concluded on the afternoon of October 16 after three days of working.

The Congress elected a 52-member provincial Party Committee for 2020-2025, along with 20 official delegates and two alternate ones representing the province at the 13th National Party Congress.

Secretary of the 10th-tenure Dong Nai Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong was re-elected Secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 11th tenure.

In his remarks, Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong said the 11th-tenure Party Committee will resolutely deal with limitations and shortcomings, promote democracy and a sense of responsibility.

In the next five years, the Party Organization of Dong Nai province identifies five directions towards ensuring comprehensive development, realizing its goal of becoming one of the localities in the country with the leading development progress.

At the same time, it also defines four breakthrough areas: mobilizing resources for developing synchronous and modern infrastructure, especially for connecting regional transport and urban and rural traffic; organic and hi-tech agriculture; the agricultural product processing industry and services for agriculture; and modern services, especially logistics.

In the congress’s resolution, Dong Nai targets to achieve a growth rate of 8.5 percent in Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and its per capita GRDP will reach more than VND186 million (US$8,000) by 2025.

It also expects to draw a total social investment capital of over VND500 trillion in five years, all communes basically meeting criteria of a model new-style rural area, and 25 percent of local communes to be recognized as model new-style rural communes by 2025.

Delivering the event’s closing speech, Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong looks to complete industrialisation and modernisation and become a modernity-oriented industrialised province, a key locality of economic activities in the country in the next five years.
