Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on March 22 praised the army’s leading role in combating the novel coronavirus epidemic, saying the army is the key force whenever the country is confronted with epidemics or natural calamities.
Through positive feedback from people in quarantine areas, I am very impressed by your work, in which the army is always the vanguard force in undertaking key Party and State tasks and protecting people’s health, PM Phuc said while visiting the Military Medical Department under the Ministry of Defence.
Whenever the country is faced with epidemics or natural disasters, the army’s key role is ever enhanced, with the Military Medical Department being on the front line, said the PM.
He acknowledged the high sense of responsibility and the spirit of overcoming difficulties in epidemic prevention by military officers, armed forces and soldiers on duty at concentrated quarantine areas along the borders.
Thousands of deployed soldiers have worked very hard to protect people in quarantine, thus helping consolidate people’s trust in the army, said the PM.
The Government leader also lauded military scientists for their coordinated efforts with relevant agencies in producing COVID-19 test kits, contributing to the fight against the epidemic.
The PM asked the soldiers to put forwards more initiatives while fully following medical recommendations so as to keep virus infection at bay within the army.
