A high-ranking military delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi on April 22 to attend the 8th Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS 8) from April 23-25 at the invitation of the Ministry of Defence of Russia.
The delegation is led by Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of Defence.
Vietnam’s participation in the event aims to affirm the country’s proactive role and sense of responsibility towards international and regional issues, and at the same time present the country’s position on security and development issues of world and regional interests, thus through which protecting national interests.
This is also an opportunity for leaders of the Defence Ministry to hold high-level meetings with their Russian counterparts, contributing to strengthening ties between the armies of the two countries in line with the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
Sen. Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang is scheduled to deliver a speech at the first plenary session and hold bilateral meetings.
