The event will also be a demonstration of Vietnam’s coordinating role in the growing relationship between ASEAN and India.
In 2017, ASEAN and India marked 25 years since they established the dialogue relationship, 15 years since setting up high-level dialogues, and five years of their strategic partnership.

Currently, ASEAN is the fourth largest trading partner of India, while India remains the sixth largest trading partner of ASEAN.
India is implementing a development fund of 75 million USD to support its enterprises investing into ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam, among others.
