Government leader wishes to elevate Vietnam-Japan ties to higher level

At a reception in Hanoi on December 11 for the Japanese guest, PM Phuc affirmed the Vietnamese Government's determination to improve the business climate to attract foreign investors, including those from Japan.

He also applauded the Vietnam – Japan strategic partnership based on mutual trust as well as fruitful cooperation between the two countries’ state agencies and sectors in realizing agreements reached by their high-ranking leaders.

The Vietnamese cabinet leader show his wish that bilateral ties would be elevated to new heights for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the Asia-Pacific region.

He also hailed Japan’s efforts in accelerating the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal, which is now renamed as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Sonoura Kentaro for his part congratulated Vietnam on its successful hosting of the APEC Year 2017 and conveyed Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s thank-you message for the warm welcome he received during his time in Vietnam for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.

Sonoura underlined this year as a historic year in Vietnam – Japan ties, with an array of visits by senior leaders, adding that his nation desires to push up friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam in multiple fields.
