Vietnam treasures and wishes to expand the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Peru, President Tran Dai Quang told Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski in central Da Nang city on November 9.
The Vietnamese State leader and the Peruvian President, who is in Da Nang to attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, commented on cooperation between the two countries over the past time, with two-way trade exceeding 350 million USD in 2016, tripling that in 2010.
The two countries have also coordinated with each other at multi-lateral mechanisms, especially the United Nations, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and negotiations of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
Vietnam and Peru boast a lot of potential for cooperation, President Quang said, urging the two countries to deepen their bilateral ties and intensify the exchange of all-level delegations in order to increase mutual understanding and development.
For his part, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed that Peru attaches importance to development cooperation with Vietnam and will create optimal conditions for Vietnamese investors in the country.
On this occasion, he shared losses caused by recent typhoon Damrey in Vietnam.
The two leaders also talked about regional and global issues of shared concern and consented to continue coordination at the UN, APEC, the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) and other multilateral cooperation frameworks.
