NGOs pledge further assistance to Dong Nai province

(ĐN)- The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, Dong Nai People's Committee and the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations (DNUFO) organized a conference in HCM city on Friday to mobilize aid from foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

 

(ĐN)- The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, Dong Nai People’s Committee and the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations (DNUFO) organized a conference in HCM city on Friday to mobilize aid from foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

The conference saw the attendance of 30 foreign NGOs, foreign diplomacy agencies in HCM city and was chaired by Vice Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung and Chairwoman of DNUFO Bui Ngoc Thanh.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hung informed the foreign NGOs on the implementation of programs and projects of NGOs in Dong Nai and the demand of receiving further assistance from foreign NGOs in the coming time.

Accordingly, there are 38 programs in the field of education and training, 8 social security programs, 4 socio-economic development programs and 11 healthcare programs. The total costs needed to carry out the programs are estimated at VND138 billion.

Representatives of foreign NGOs highly appreciated the mobilization and the usage of NGOs’ aid in Dong Nai and pledged to continue their aid to the province into social security activities to local people.

Also at the conference, South Korean Cultural Exchange Institute in HCM city signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with DNUFO on the project of building 30 charitable houses, supporting children with disabilities and presenting scholarships to poor students in Dong Nai in the period of 2016-2020.
