(ĐN)- Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations (DUFO) and the provincial Vietnam- Thailand Friendship Association hosted a meeting on August 2 celebrating the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh and Thai Consul-General in HCM city Ureerat Ratanaprukse.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh said since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties on August 6, 1976, Vietnam and the Thailand have seen encouraging progresses in all fields.
The Thailand has so far run 426 investment projects totaling US$7.88 billion in Vietnam. Two-way trade between Vietnam and the Thailand is expected to reach US$20 billion by 2020.
Meanwhile, Thai Consul-General in HCM City Ureerat Ratanaprukse expressed her high hope that the two countries will further develop the bilateral cooperation based on sound relations in the past four decades. She also showed her willing to promote cooperation between Dong Nai and Chon Buri provinces.
