According to the provincial Election Committee, 87 candidates were elected as deputies of the provincial People’s Council for the new term with the votes of over 2.1 million voters, or 99.57% of the voters.
The results showed that Nguyen Phu Cuong, PCC member and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, received 47,756 votes in favour, accounting for 75.52%. Meanwhile, Dinh Quoc Thai, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, gained support from 69.60% of voters.
For the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly, 11 deputies were elected, instead of 12 as assigned by the National Election Council./.
