The delegation, headed by Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) and Vice Chairman of the Central Election Council Nguyen Thien Nhan, hailed the province on its active and prompt preparations for the elections to the 14th National Assembly and the People’s Council for the 2016-2021 period.

On this occasion, the delegation inspected Thong Nhat district’s preparations for the upcoming elections.

Chairman of Thong Nhat district People’s Committee Tran Van Chien said the locality had been preparing for the upcoming elections in line with the law and quality requirements. The procedures were implemented safely and timely, he said.

Particularly, the third consultation conference in the district introduced 61 candidates for the district People’s Council and 514 others for the communal People’s Council.

Chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan praised Thong Nhat district for its dissemination of the significance of the elections for all strata of people to help them gain better understanding of people-elected agencies.

The district should create the most favourable conditions for all voters to exercise their right and obligation to vote.

He also emphasized the necessity for the locality to ensure that the elections are conducted in a democratic, law-abiding safe and economical manner.
