(ĐN)- The 5th Provincial Patriotic Emulation Congress officially took place at the provincial Convention Centre this morning, September 16, with the participation of Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) Dang Ngoc Tung, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran Van Tu, Chairman of People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai, and Chairman of Fatherland Front Committee Vu Van Vu.
At the congress, Vice Chairman Tran Minh Phuc of People’s Committee reviewed the work of campaigns and movements in boosting the province’s socio-economic development in the 2010-2015 period and preview plans for the next five years. Accordingly, he affirmed that patriotic role-model movements have pooled the people’s strength, encouraged creativity, and solidified the people’s credibility.
Over the past years, the movements have also become effective management tools to help the province implement political tasks, spur socio-economic development and improve the people’s living conditions.
Patriotic movements in the 2011-2015 period will concentrate on boosting the province’s renovation comprehensively, promoting fast and sustainable economic development, raising the people’s material and spiritual life, maintaining socio-political stability, thus creating a foundation for the province to basically become an industrialized province.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded excellent emulation flags to 40 collectives for their achievements in patriotic emulation movements in the 2010-2015 period.
Speaking at the congress, Chairman of VGCL Dang Ngoc Tung highly appreciated efforts made by Dong Nai’s party and people in implementing the patriotic emulation movements over the past five years, especially in attracting foreign investment, solving jobs for laborers and building new rural areas. He called on local Party and people to promote the patriotism and national unity strength, contributing to successfully implementing the socio-economic development plan for 2015-2020.
