Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc gave a reception in Hanoi on August 25 for Japan’s Parliamentary Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Youji Mutou , who is on a working visit to Vietnam.
The Deputy PM described the visit by Youji Mutou and his entourage as a vivid demonstration of the fine friendship between the two countries.
He noted with delight the strong development in the bilateral ties, especially since the two countries elevated their relationship to a new level of the Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia.
Vietnam wishes to ceaselessly deepen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Japan, considering this a top priority in the country’s foreign policy, the official said.
Japan is Vietnam’s leading economic partner, he said, adding that cooperation in official development assistance (ODA), trade and investment has effectively contributed to the country’s socio-economic development.
Deputy PM Phuc stressed the Party and Government of Vietnam attach importance to inspection work, complaint and petition settlement and the fight against corruption, saying these tasks are significant in building a professional and modern administration.
Hailing the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam and Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the official suggested the Japanese side continue to assist Vietnam in organising training courses for its officials, helping improve their capacity in inspection and administrative complaint settlement.
In response, Youji Mutou briefed his host on the content of his talks with the Vietnamese Government Inspector.
He pledged to do his utmost to contribute to enhancing Vietnam-Japan relationship in all areas, matching the two countries’ mutual interest and their people’s aspirations.
