Viet Nam, US vow to boost POW/MIA activities

Senior Lieutenant-General and Deputy Minister of National Defence Nguyen Chi Vinh yesterday received Ann Mills Griffiths, chairwoman of the National League of POW/MIA Families (Prisoners of War/Missing in Action).

 

Senior Lieutenant-General and Deputy Minister of National Defence Nguyen Chi Vinh yesterday received Ann Mills Griffiths, chairwoman of the National League of POW/MIA Families (Prisoners of War/Missing in Action).

Vinh said that relevant Viet Nam agencies and localities had actively implemented MIA activities and reaped fine outcomes that manifested Viet Nam's humanitarian and cooperative goodwill on MIA issues as well as issues of mutual concern.

He expressed hope that the two countries' MIA agencies would boost MIA activities, thus strengthening multilateral co-operation between Viet Nam and the US.

Griffiths spoke highly of the Vietnamese Government's support on MIA issues during the past years and expressed her hope that the Defence Ministry and relevant agencies of Viet Nam would continue to facilitate the US in MIA activities.
