National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on February 3 greatly valued the World Bank (WB)'s financial support and policy consultation for Vietnam's socio-economic development while meeting WB Country Director Victoria Kwakwa in Hanoi.
National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on February 3 greatly valued the World Bank (WB)’s financial support and policy consultation for Vietnam’s socio-economic development while meeting WB Country Director Victoria Kwakwa in Hanoi.
At the reception, Ngan told her guest that the government agencies are actively finalizing programs and projects to ensure capital reception.
She said she hopes the WB will share experience gained from helping other nations to make it suitable with conditions in Vietnam to help the nation build a long-term development strategy for the coming period.
Vietnam is committed to taking every measure to ensure the most effective use of ODA, Ngan said, while suggesting the WB support NA agencies in studying legislative experience from other countries, send experts and conduct surveys on law supervision projects.
The NA leader expressed her wish that the WB will work hand in hand with government agencies to build programs and projects to best meet Vietnam’s requirements and provide policy support to help the country ensure macroeconomic stability and push up socio-economic development.
WB Country Director Victoria Kwakwa, in turn, applauded Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements and NA adoption of laws and congratulated the 8th session of the 13th National Assembly, adding that the WB will work cohesively with the Government of Vietnam to carry out projects aiming to resolve effectively poverty reduction programs.
