PM welcomes Myanmar's Minister of Information

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung gave a reception for Myanmar’s Minister of Information Ye Htut in Hanoi on January 20.

The PM said he hopes Vietnam and Myanmar will continue to promote cooperation in politics and diplomacy, contributing to building an ASEAN Community in 2015.

He called for increased cooperation to ensure regional peace and security and deepen bilateral ties.

The PM asked the Government of Myanmar to allow Vietnamese businesses to expand their telecommunication services and Vietnamese banks to open offices in Myanmar.

He also called for greater efforts to accelerate the implementation of cooperation agreements in 13 areas reached by senior leaders.

Minister Ye Htut said he hopes Myanmar will sign cooperation agreements with the Ministry of Information and Communications and Vietnam Television soon in order to enhance cooperation in state management and information and experience sharing.

The minister encouraged Vietnam’s information and telecommunication businesses to boost cooperation and investment in Myanmar.
