The PM made the request at the opening session of the regular Government meeting on September 29.
He noted that socio-economic development had shown marked improvement over the past nine months and Vietnam would likely meet or exceed 13 out 15 targets set by the National Assembly.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam’s economy expanded by 5.62% in the nine months through September, with growth in the third quarter quickening to 6.19% from the 5.42% pace in the previous three months.
During the January-September period, manufacturing also saw strong growth and exports continued to outstrip imports.
PM Dung said that Government members should concentrate on working out specific measures to further improve the business environment, push through economic reforms and enhance economic productivity.
He added that strong determination and close co-ordination between agencies would bring about dramatic transformations to the current situation.
During the two-day meeting, the Government will also discuss reports on a number of major projects, such as the plan to build Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai province.
