(ĐN)- A ceremony was held on May 29 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to announce a decision to establish Fisheries Surveillance Team No. 2.

The team is under the control of the Fisheries Surveillance Sub-Department of Zone 3 under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The team will undertake the tasks of protecting the country’s fishery resources; taking part in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction over its seas and islands; controlling, detecting, and handling violations of Vietnam’s fisheries laws and regulations that occur in the country’s sea areas; taking part in rescue and salvage activities at sea.
Moreover, the new team will cooperate with Vietnamese Coast Guard forces in propagandizing and enforcing the Vietnamese Law on Sea.
