Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski says he is delighted at the positive development of the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Poland and Vietnam over the years.
Komorowski made the statement while receiving newly accredited Vietnamese ambassador to Poland Pham Kien Thiet in capital Warsaw on February 11.
He acknowledged the tremendous achievements Vietnamese people have made during their current Doi Moi (Renewal) process.
He assured Thiet he will direct relevant Polish agencies to support the diplomat in fulfilling his task in Poland.
The president conveyed his best regards to President Truong Tan Sang, and other senior Party, State and government leaders of Vietnam.
For his part, ambassador Thiet briefed his host on Vietnam’s recent achievements in socio-economic development and national integration, as well as its development strategy in the coming years.
He vowed to work hard to boost bilateral cooperation, especially in prioritised areas of economics, trade, culture, education-training, and science-technology, to develop Vietnam-Poland ties efficiently and comprehensively.
The same day, the ambassador laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldiers Monument at Jozef Pilsludski Square in the capital.
