The National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) on Wednesday in Ha Noi hosted a national conference to put the amended Constitution into reality.
The event drew the attendance of NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Standing Member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh, Head of the CPV Central Committee Commission for Popularization and Education (CPE) Dinh The Huynh, and Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, among others.
Addressing the event, NA Chairman Hung said that it is necessary to enforce the amended Constitution in all aspects of social life.
All branches, sectors and localities must grasp thoroughly the realization of the document, regarding it a key mission of the whole political system in the coming time.
Accordingly, all regulations of the Constitution must be fulfilled. Effective laws and ordinances would be reviewed and amended in accordance with the newly-approved Constitution.
Offices and agencies would have to make half-yearly and yearly reports on the implementation of the Constitution to the Government, the NASC and the Political Bureau.
The NASC, the Government and the CPE will take the prime responsibility for enforcing the document.
Divided into 11 chapters with 120 articles (one chapter and 27 articles fewer than the previous version), the amended Constitution clearly states that the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam is governed by law and mastered by the people.
It fully specifies political and economic regimes, showing the nature of Viet Nam’s economy as a market-based one following the socialist orientations.
The document also highlights culture, science-technology, environment protection, human rights, basic citizens’ rights and obligations, national defense, the State apparatus, the validity and amendments to the Constitution.
