Politburo member Le Hong Anh who is also permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat stressed that in any position, General Thanh always fulfilled his assigned tasks, embraced every hardship and established himself as a shining example of a resilient communist who placed the interests of the Party and the national revolution first.
Politburo member Anh urged officers and Party members to follow General Thanh’s example to raise a high sense of revolutionary spirit, nurture their ethics, improve their qualification in a bid to make Vietnam a socialist country with prosperous people and democratic, just and civilised society.
Speaking at the ceremony, Party Central Committee member and Secretary of the Thua Thien – Hue provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ngoc Thien said that General Nguyen Chi Thanh is an excellent son of the province.
He also reaffirmed that promoting the province’s fine tradition, local authority and people have made significant contributions to the country’s resistance wars against foreign invaders and the national construction and defence.
