Vietnam has two new deputy PMs

The National Assembly (NA) on November 13 approved the Prime Minister's appointment of Vu Duc Dam and Pham Binh Minh as two new deputy prime ministers.

The National Assembly (NA) on November 13 approved the Prime Minister’s appointment of Vu Duc Dam and Pham Binh Minh as two new deputy prime ministers.

Pham Binh Minh, who is incumbent Foreign Minister, got 467 out of 471 votes in favour (85.75 percent) and Vu Duc Dam, 421 (84.54 percent).

In his speech, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung congratulated the two newly elected deputy prime ministers and believed that they will fulfill their tasks to be worthy of NA confidence.

Earlier the same day, the NA adopted the PM’s proposal to relieve Vu Duc Dam of his position as Minister-Chairman of the Government Office.
