Vietnam and Antigua and Barbuda have established diplomatic ties in order to strengthen and develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and peoples.
A joint communiqué to this effect was signed by Ambassador Le Hoai Trung, head of Vietnam ’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) and his counterpart Anthony Liverpool in New York on November 8.
Both sides agreed to exchange their diplomatic representatives at ambassadorial level and apply the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations in bilateral ties.
The establishment of diplomatic ties with Antigua and Barbuda, a twin-island nation lying between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, demonstrates Vietnam’s foreign policy of diversifying and multilateralising ties with countries worldwide.
